Message from Owner

We just inherited Ana 4 months ago from my husband's dad who past. I unexpectedly left the front door open and she wandered off. We are heartbroken. She's unfortunately not wearing her dog collar, it was in the laundry.

I'm sure Ana is also depressed about the loss of your Father-in-law and may be trying to return to his old residence. Do you have any clothing items such as one of his coats, sweaters, or anything that may have his scent, to use in a scent station in front of your home?

Please make sure her microchip info is current, hand out colored flyers, contact Foothills Animal Shelter and check their found pets on their website. They are open 7 days a week.

The best and most important thing you can do now is to make flyers and post where you dog went missing and surrounding areas. Creating flyers is the first thing to do so you can increase the chances of reported sightings. Add a picture and phone number but not her name. Also if you can go to lostmydoggie.com, you will have the option to create a 2nd flyer for distribution to 20 local rescues, shelters and vets in the area. Please do NOT chase or call out your dogs name as that may scare your dog as she may feel that she did something wrong. Also you may want to place some of her blankets or a piece of your clothing near where Your baby went missing so the scent will be familiar to your dog. Place water, but no food in the same area. These are included in the tips on the website. Get the flyers hung and it’s best not to have a crowd of people searching as that may also scare your dog. Also most important is not to give up. There are cases where dogs are lost for weeks or months and are later found safe. I know of a case of a GSD who was lost up in Bishop CA for 6 months under similar circumstances and was later found safe and was returned home. The flyers were instrumental in his return. Same in another case where a dog was lost in the desert in Adelanto. He is safe as well. Saying many prayers for that your baby will come home safe very soon. 🙏🐾 Keep the Faith!
