Description

Max is a black, caramel and white Siberian Husky. Aprox 60 lbs. Very friendly and playful. He was last seen wearing a black harness, collar and 2 leashes. Max was lost or stolen during transport from Georgia to Florida.

Message from Owner

Max was to be transported from a shelter in Georgia to a rescue in Florida. The initial transporter picked Max up but did not transport him to the rescue. Instead of transporting, she handed Max off to a man at the Loves Gas Station in Tipton, GA. The man never delivered Max to the foster in Gainesville FL but claims to have driven an hour past Gainesville and lost Max at a rest stop in Ocala, FL. The man has given different locations to the rescue and the DS and is no longer responding to any communication of Max's wherabouts. It is possible Max never made it to Florida. He could be anywhere, but possibly in Georgia or Florida. If you see Max, please contact Swampland Husky Rescue in Gainesville, FL

Cindy Johnson I agree, the shelter should Never have returned Max to her for any reason. She dumped him at a Shelter without a concern. Why on earth would they do that to him!! Per the brother, John lives part time in FL. The motive for this is unknown as Jane and John have stopped answering anyone. Police reports have been filed. Sadly, evil horrible people can do bad things to dogs and the cops don't care. Max was beautiful. He really was cheated out of a happy family life by these two vile humans.

Elizabeth Broccio They aren't real transporters. Jane is some lady that lives in Lagrange, GA and had been holding the dog after finding it. Not sure why the dogs original owner didn't take him back but Jane tried to rehome Max and eventually dumped him at a shelter. The shelter was going to euthanize Max but one of the workers reached out to Swampland Husky Rescue to take Max and Swampland agreed. The Shelter made all arrangements. We have no idea why the shelter allowed Jane to pick up the dog she dumped. That should have Never happened! Jane was supposed to transport the dog to the foster in Florida. Per her story, she handed him off to her friend John in Tipton, GA and John was to drive Max to Florida. He decided not to deliver Max and continued heading south where he "supposedly" lost max at a rest stop in Ocala. John gave Swampland one rest stop location and gave the Sheriff a totally different location. Both locations were searched and there was no sign of John, who was supposedly searching, and no sign of Max. 😭 Neither John or Jane are responding and no signs of Max have been reported. We hope they didn't him.

Elizabeth Broccio I asked. They said the cameras don't cover the parking lot. I have reached out to Corporate to confirm if this is true.

Elizabeth Broccio Police reports were filed. She made no mention of handing him off so the shelter and the rescue never knew that was going to happen.
