Description

Max is a black, caramel and white Siberian Husky. Aprox 60 lbs. Very friendly and playful. He was last seen wearing a black harness, collar and 2 leashes. Max was lost or stolen during transport from Georgia to Florida.

Message from Owner

Max was to be transported from a shelter in Georgia to a rescue in Florida. The initial transporter picked Max up but did not transport him to the rescue. Instead of transporting, she handed Max off to a man at the Loves Gas Station in Tipton, GA. The man never delivered Max to the foster in Gainesville FL but claims to have driven an hour past Gainesville and lost Max at a rest stop in Ocala, FL. The man has given different locations to the rescue and the DS and is no longer responding to any communication of Max's wherabouts. It is possible Max never made it to Florida. He could be anywhere, but possibly in Georgia or Florida. If you see Max, please contact Swampland Husky Rescue in Gainesville, FL

Kim Bg very strange that a shelter would allow a relinquished animal to go back to owner for anything. Obviously, she gave this dog to the man she met. He was able to name a rest area when questioned not knowing it was south of Gainesville. He probably never came to Florida. But why would they lie if she wanted to give him that dog? Has she been questioned? Sounds like she pulled this off.

Max with the lady who was supposedly driving him to the foster. This is the woman who handed him off to another person.

Julaine Ortwein Unsure. He was listed as microchipped but then the woman who was supposedly driving him to the foster said he wasn't. So many lies and conflicting bits of information. They're watching the posts and likely laughing at all of this drama they've created.

Barbara Cooper Long We would love to but the man that lost the dog gave two different locations, one to the rescue and one to the police. Both were searched by the rescue and there was no sign of this man or the dog at either so we're unsure the dog was ever really there. That said, there is no starting point to count on and the man has not responded to a text or call since 4/9/25.

Andrea Lefebvre Honestly, we have no idea. He gave the rescue one location and stopped responding. The rescue called the police who contacted this man and he gave them a different location where the dog was supposedly lost. Both sites were searched that night and neither the dog, nor this man were at either location.

Cindy Johnson It wasn't a transport service. The shelter allowed the lady who dumped him at the shelter, to pick him up and drive him to the foster. What No One Knew,,,, not the shelter nor the rescue, was that she would supposedly hand Max off to this guy - who's name Pawboost wont let me post - at a Loves Truck Stop in Tipton GA and he was supposed to drive the dog to the foster in Gainesville. He decided to never drop the dog off and has given conflicting locations to the rescue and the police as to the dogs whareabouts.
