Please share: Our albino pet Norway fancy rat Alberta is missing in Denver, CO. $100 reward if found or if info you give me leads to my children & I finding her. She may have gotten outside by hiding in a VVA donation pickup of 5 boxes and a bag that was put on our porch at Whispering Pines West (80237) on 11/19/25 at 8:30 am and eventually picked up at 10 am. The trucked picked up other donations from people's homes and unloaded at a donation center at Sheridan & Evans (80227), 11 miles from our home. She could have gotten out of the donation pile in the 1.5 hrs before the truck came, she could have been put on the truck and jumped off at another stop, or she could be at the donation center. I am trying to search all the places and watch any security cam footage people will give me. Alberta is 8 months old. Someone may assume she is an abandoned pet or lab white rat or think she is even a mouse and rescue/rehome her without reporting her as found to animal shelters because most focus on lost cats and dogs. Please spread the word anywhere in metro Denver! My 11-year-old daughter is devastated she is lost. We will also reimburse anyone for care costs who has been thinking she was abandoned and is their new pet. She does not bite people, she is affectionate and was healthy. Alberta is very smart, the only rat that figured out how to escape their cage. She is also blind but most will not notice because her sense of smell and hearing is very good. Please text or call me asap with any info or sightings: 720-227-2582. Please do not contact me to try to scam me or share your negative opinion; we have had enough of that. Thank you!

Suzan Reynolds I did I have live traps with food and bedding from her cage with her sisters and some clothing of ours. Something triggered the Havahart trap outside the Pick Up Please donation center and ate the food but the door locking mechanism failed. It’s too stiff, maybe WD40 will fix it. The one inside the center was triggered but the locking pin and plastic attached piece is gone. No water in the dish, but food. I think one of the workers maybe just kicked it accidentally or something. Idk how to get just those replacement parts. These traps were $43 each at Ace Hardware. I also made a 5 gal bucket trap with a ramp for her to climb in, then she’d (most likely) not be able to climb out of the bucket because it’s too slick. The ramp was from their cage with a cover that smelled like them. I taped it very well but someone removed the ramp, it was nowhere to be found (s because it’s actually the top platform of their cage) A lot of people don’t like rats even though they are very intelligent, empathetic, and pet rats have much less diseases than dogs or other pets…they are the cleanest animals I’ve ever owned. Alberta was litter box trained in a day and washed her hands and face upon waking and before and after eating using a dish of clean water. I am afraid someone has or will intentionally hurt her. 💔 I have put up signs offering $100 reward to hopefully disuade cruelty, I hope that wasn’t too late. A woman that works at the thrift shop adjoining the donation center that I spoke to yesterday and today was clearly irritated that I am looking for my pet rat, even though I wasn’t asking anything of her, other than if the guy who let me bring the traps was there so I could check them. Only 2 people there have been kind to me so far, fortunately one is a manager. I am trying to not bother them. I haven’t even been checking the traps daily because they said they would call me. I don’t have a working phone number to call them. I am afraid if someone intentionally threw away the ramp and broke the other cage then they may put out poison. Maybe they have already. The one that is not broken outside I hid well under things to protect it from the elements. I hope rat-hating people don’t find it, especially if Alberta is in it. I put a warm beenie hat in there to hopefully keep anything alive in the trap on these cold nights. I appreciate the couple of people that are letting me try at all to look for her around there so I don’t want to complain about anything or they might not let me try. I’m not sure what to do about the broken traps inside the warehouse now.

Post signs all over the neighborhood and with the donation center - she may be spotted and a location can be given to you. If she is still in your neighborhood set up a scent station using worn clothing from the owner - hanging it outside - so that the scent can travel. She may use that scent/odor to find her way back home. I wish you all the best.
