Helena Brown thinking of the fluffy dark colored dog lost near us a while back. Can't remember the breed but the shape of body is same. This one looks like there is some mange happening??

I hope it can be secured soon. Please also do a post on Lost and Found Pets Toronto and file a found report with Animal Services (and keep checking their listings). Also post on Neighbourhood and park groups and get signs up. If anyone comes forward, they should provide proof of ownership (photos & vet records). You can also take the dog to a vet clinic to check for a microchip (free). If difficult to approach: Do not chase or face it head on. Turn to the side and sit or crouch down. Speak softly and be toss tasty treats. Have a slip lead with you. It can take time for trust to build. Doing it this way makes the person appear far less threatening to a frightened dog.
