Cats are territorial. Twix is close and will stay close. Hiding nearby. Call to her consistently. She hears you. May not initially answer but listen hard for her to respond to you. How my cat came home after missing for a week. Calling and looking every day helped bring him home. Don’t give up.
Twix will try to return home. Crack open a garage door or regular door just enough for her to get thru. Place her bedding inside the door with your slept on pillowcase in the bedding and a low setting heating pad underneath everything. Place some water and just a little bit of food deep inside the garage. Please, no food or litter box outside. It will attract other cats and predators placing her in danger. Someone whose cat was missing for a MONTH did this. While setting up the garage her cat walked inside!! Friends, neighbors and others on lost/found sites have done this with much success. Again, don’t give up!!! It’s the biggest mistake pet owners make. Cats tend to show up at night.
Reach out to your neighbors including those living in that apt. Complex. They are key in helping you find Twix. Distribute flyers to your neighbors and those in the complex. Secure them thru out that complex so many will see your contact info and her image. Someone may have taken her inside. Ask your neighbors to consistently check their properties and structures. Many cats are found in garages and under decks.
Go out with a flashlight as it starts getting dark. Cats tend to feel safer at night and will come out. My friends did this after calling and looking for their kitty all day. They eventually found Marley hiding under the neighbor’s deck.
Let the Humane Society know Twix is missing in case she is taken there. Going there every few days helps. Also, go to their website daily and check the images posted of lost pets who are there. Pets.hsppr.gov.
If you adopted her from a local rescue contact them
right away and let them know she is missing and needing help. They are good at what they do and will help you find her. Don’t hesitate to reach out!! Look up! She may have been spooked up a tree by a neighbor dog. This happened to our kitty. Stuck in a nearby tree overnight terrified. We had to go up and get him.
