My dog went missing also, but was inside my property with the gate locked. Quite old and almost deaf.He was never scared before from the fireworks . This also happened to my other dog last New Years , we believe my other dog is down the street and someone has her . When we come home to my home we hear the dog barking , Cassie knows the sound of my car. Now , Chewy my dog that just went missing is older, had him for many years. Many dogs have went missing where I live. Such a coincidence! Hum , Chewy is all white with just a little butterscotch color on his ears. Both dogs were chipped. We went everywhere looking over and over. They had their tags but playing with one another they came off. I know how you feel believe me , they are part of my family . Really worried about Chewy , so sweet of a dog , would not hurt anyone . He has a hard time getting around being older. And no , I really don’t believe he is dead. Last seen ,was New Years Eve after dark . We left after that . We have a problem with people taking dogs in our neighborhood.
