Leanne Winter Brown I have chipped all my pets cats and dogs. My cat never went outside but just in case. Also now I am fostering a TNR cat colony and they are chipping these cats which are feral in Minneapolis

My dog was chipped & I didn’t know it until he needed an x ray Here he had come from some ___ breeder in Indiana 🙄 He was also allergic to the metal Just as I am Allergies are linked to Mast Cell Tumors in dogs which are often cancer My dog got them & from the cancer Many people have pets with allergies & can’t figure out what their allergy is to Not sure about cats Dogs change owners ( cats too but not as much :) & the chip can be no good They are evasive & for all these reasons I’m not a fan ID tags are so simple & inexpensive & can be changed & are non evasive ❤️ There would be probably 75% or more less lost dogs if owners had an ID tag on them I didn’t realize a lot of people chip their cats , especially if they are indoor only :)

Some vets will cremate for you as a courtesy My neighbor took one she found hit by a car & wrapped it in a blanket & put it in a dog carrier & took it to her vet & they were very kind & took care of it To my knowledge , the police dept won’t pick it up or scan it Do people really chip their cats ??? I’ve never heard of one person I know who has I went to pick up a deceased dog a couple weeks ago so it wasn’t left for the coyotes & we posted it all over but couldn’t find an owner & it didn’t have a chip 😞 PD wouldn’t pick it up. They said we don’t do that

I honestly wish there was a trigger warning for posts like this showing a dead animal. I totally understand the need to find its family. I just don’t want to see this poor animal like this.

Maybe it was the owner that put the cat out inside this box. Very sad 😭
