Iâm so sorry your fur baby is missing. Iâm posting a few tips to to help you find her and I realize that perhaps youâve already tried some of them. (But hopefully thereâs still a point or two youâll find helpful.) Please put her bed/blanket or an unwashed article of your clothing outside, the scent will help her find her way home. (Experienced rescues advise not to use soiled cat litter as it can attract predators and aggressive cats.) If sheâs an indoor only kitty, sheâs probably close but hiding. Check under the house, porches, and in sheds and garages, anywhere she may be trapped. Ask your neighbors to do the same. Ask them, too, to check their Ring cameras. If sheâs not home by tonight, search under bushes and shrubs with a flashlight, her eyes will reflect the light. Best time to search is late night and early morning when itâs most quiet outside. Call her name softly and gently shake a treat bag. Post on Pawboost and Nextdoor , excellent additional resources that can assist you. If you can, put up fliers throughout your neighborhood and report her as missing to local vets. Finally, be sure to file a lost kitty report with your county shelter. Send a photo to them, if possible. Many people donât use social media, so the shelters are often the first place they turn to. Last but not least, beware of lost pet scams. They appear to be on the increase these days. All my best wishes for a speedy reunion.
