AJ Caughey Helpful tips for found Cats SOME kitties are close to home. You can register a free SIGHTING or FOUND or Deceased report for free on Petfbi (Lost Cats Illinois). They will generate a flyer you can hang in area in case owners aren't on social media or this page to see your post. Post on Ring Neighbors and Nextdoor Apps as well. Please contact PD and Animal Control in case owners have reported as missing. Easily could be someone's lost pet. Should be scanned for a chip. Getting covered found flyers up (cover with sheet protector or gallon zip lock) up in area and exits/entries of subdivisions or area found is beneficial. Speak to neighbors. we provided food and water, cat is very friendly and seems very healthy. The cat is still on the building grounds at last check: the local animal shelter advised that the best chance for them to reunite with the owner is leaving them as-is in the neighborhood. Some people on reddit said this looked like a local outdoor cat that they recognized who is usually found a few miles north.
