If you haven't already, file a police report. Chances are the police will do nothing about it because under the law, unless the pet is a very expensive show dog, pet theft is a misdemeanor, not a felony. They don't have enough value under the law for the police to pursue it. Your best bet for getting your dog back is to go to the court and file a Replevin in the district court to recover your property. The cost of filing is around $55 or $60. You may be able to recover your filing fee cost and other costs associated once you win your case. You will want to take all your documentation to show that the dog was yours. If he is microchipped, you need to provide that proof, also. Don't put yourself or anyone else in a dangerous situation trying to get your dog back from this woman. My heart goes out to you.❤️
