Lara F Lowe You can't just take someone's dog. By law a found dog must be reported to the Animal Shelter which would be Chesterfield Animal Shelter of a found dog. Owner may have already completed a lost report with tgem.

Found dogs must be reported to the Animal Control Shelter in the area the dog was found within 48 of you finding it. Owner may have already contacted the Shelter and or filed a lost report with them.

Pls ask proof of ownership. Vet records. Not just pictures as many use AI. Any vet can check for a microchip for free. And pls notify your shelter as 'found', its the law. Thats where most owners file their lost dog. Thanks for keeping him/her safe.
