Lui Reyes Are you not able to take him to any nearby vet, rescue, or shelter in the morning to have him scanned? It’s 100% free and only takes 1-2 minutes of your time (no appt. needed, just show up!). If not, I will gladly pick him up tomorrow and have him scanned for a microchip, as well as properly report him as found.

You CANNOT simply give away or rehome a found stray!!! They are typically someone’s lost pet! PLEASE understand that stray or found dogs are NOT “free” dogs, so it’s not as simple as just keeping it if it isn’t chipped, giving it away, giving it to a friend or neighbor to “foster,” handing it over to a complete stranger on the Internet, REHOMING IT, or taking it in as if it’s your own personal animal to do with what you choose — that is NOT how things work. It’s also AGAINST THE LAW. Thank you for caring and for securing this lost dog. Please do the responsible thing and both have it scanned for a microchip and report it to CCAS as found ASAP — ideally, within the 1st 24hrs.
