Put out some worn clothing on your porch. Notify all your neighbors he is missing and ask them to check under their decks, house and in their garage and any outbuildings they might have. Put up flyers with his picture and your phone number around your neighborhood. Flyers work. Lots of people have found their cats because neighbors saw their flyers. You might also want to go out and look after dark with a flashlight. They typically don’t stray too far from home.

First- be careful of scammers! They come quickly. I kept getting messages from fake accounts offering to use drones. Our cat got out last December. We worked with a legit animal tracker and used her advice. Our cat came home the morning before we had to physically use the tracking dogs. Take dirty clothes of her person and p lace around yard and in a trap. Create a perimeter. Take madckerel juice, soak paper towels in it and place them all around your yard. The higher up in trees and bushes the better. It will stink. Take the fish (mackerel- has to be really smelly) and her normal food and make feeding stations in your yard. Spray remaining juice high up in trees and bushes. At feeding stations and traps you must have a camera on it tho to see what animal actually eats it. Get a cellular device like a trail camera. Must be cellular so you can get notices immediately. Also take items from your house that has the cat’s smell on it and freeze it. If you have to track the cat the dog will be able to get scent from that. Cats lose their senses when they get lost. They only have sense of smell. The food and clothes they will notice. You calling their name and shaking treats could actually scare them. Dont put out litter box. Typically cats dont go far first 2 weeks. Rarely more than a few houses away. They typically also only roam between 12-5 am. Put up lots of flyers with a picture and phone numbers. Use bright colors and make easy to read. Our cat was probably in the back yard area of our house the majority of the 4 days she was. We spotted her on the trail camera at 1 am and 4 am. Caught her at 430 am. Good luck.
