Please fill out the lost forms at lostmykitty. com, pawboost. com, petfbi .com, petfinder. com. All rescues/shelters/pd/vets/lost and found groups use those sites. Thousands will see the post. I've also noticed a lot more pet posts on the Ne ighbo rs, N extDo or and Ring apps as well as Cra igsl ist. When you check Cr aig slis t, check not only the lost and found section, but the for sale sections as well. Make it a point to share the lost flyer with every vet you can, near and far....you never know if someone picked up kitty and brought them to where they live....i.e. next town over, so keep that in mind. Also post at any business that will let you. Look to join local fb groups and ask to share the post from Helping Lost Pets when it's available....Not just the lost pets local groups, the ones that are watches, news, etc. Make sure to post on the "Pet Alert" page.... Additionally, put kitty's litterbox outside, cats can smell their litterbox up to a mile away. If you have any dirty laundry, put as much as you can outside your house...sprinkle it around your property. Keep your garage or porch doors open a couple inches to allow the cat to get to a safe space. Cats usually travel 1 square block per week, so kitty is probably close. Try sitting outside and talking in a normal, quieter voice....like if you were on the phone. Cats get very skittish if they sense fear or irritation in a voice. Try luring the cat out of hiding with a laser pointer, if you have one. Talk to every neighbor in a 2 block radius and ask them to check their garages, sheds and window wells. Ask some local kids to help you find or let you know if they see kitty. Finally, listen for neighborhood dogs barking for seemingly no reason...they could be barking at a hiding cat.... Best of luck and don't give up hope. ALSO: There are no legitimate pet trackers on Ins tag ram, Wh atsA pp, gm ail or via text. They are all scammers....

Tips to find an indoor cat

Post him on Next Door also. Go out at night and early am to look for him. Indoor cars won’t go far in the beginning so time is of the essence. Crack open a window at night to listen for meows. Open garage door and then door leading into the house around dusk and he may walk back in on his own.

It would be good to put a worn piece of clothing on your porch as well as inside the garage. Like I mentioned previously. It would also be good to post a neighbors ring app which covers a three plus mile radius of your location and alerts people that have the app. It would also be good to focus on a one to two block radius of your location, especially at Don dusk in feeding time, shaking a bag of cat treats or cat food vigorously to help attract your cat's attention if it's nearby, and also bring a flashlight with you to help catch a glimpse of your cat's eyes if it's nearby. While you're in this area, make sure you also check trees shrubbery window wells and especially under ducks and porches where cats are often found and ask your neighbors to check their shed and garage where cats are also often found. This little guy looks like a kitten and they should be watched really good and not be able to get out. Make sure your kitten is really lost. Recently in a 2-week. Five different people thought their cats were lost and they were all later found in their house, including one that was found in a cabinet that was hardly used 3 days later. Make sure you check behind furniture under furniture in dresser, drawers, closets, etc. Hope this baby is safe and we'll soon be back home. Good luck!

Flyers are very important. They are best put in a zip gallon bag that is upside down to protect from the elements. It was just recently that both the dog and a cat were reunited by flyers alone since the people that found the animals did not have social media. If you adopted from a rescue, they usually like to know ASAP that a former animal is missing. If your cat has a microchip, it's good to make sure your contact information is up to date so you can be contacted if your cat is found. Cats tend to stay close to home before they wander so time is of the essence. Make sure your cat is not hiding in the garage in a closet in a dresser, drawer or behind furniture which often happens. I've heard of a few cats returning home the past few years when the owner left their garage open about 5 inches with a worn piece of clothing on the inside of the garage near the opening to help attract the cat if it comes close back to home but not too wide. So you do not attract unwanted animals. It's good if you go check outside on your block around Dawn and dusk with a flashlight looking in shrubbery and under decks and porches to hopefully catch a glimpse of your cat's eyes if it is close by. Usually cats are scared when they first leave home and might not even respond to you. So the flashlight might come in handy to catch a glimpse of the eyes. It's also good to check your local animal control in person daily because things change very often and best in person. It's also good to check local rescues and shelters in your area daily. Hoping for a quick and safe return.....
