Oh no! Post posters everywhere in your neighborhood- especially where people come and go from the area- like stop signs. Your kitty probably got scared and is hiding somewhere- Trying going out late at night to look for your kitty. The best success story I’ve heard of finding a cat was when someone followed all that advice clip about how to find your cat and went out at night (late late- like 2am!)with a flashlight and finally found his cat in a hedge because of the eye flash from the light- like a month later! It’s worked for a few other people who have tried it since I’ve posted this advice. If you go out that late take someone with you so you’re safe. Don’t give up- it can take a long time to find a cat. Keep going out and looking late at night. And check the shelters daily online for a very long time- it can take kitties a while to get there. The ABQ shelter online system has pictures so it’s a good way to check. Just make sure you check for list and adoptable- though their system is good mistakes can happen. Good luck.

Stand outside at your house and call her, this way she knows which direction is home. Call often, day and night. Try very early in the morning when the world is quiet, call and then listen in case she is stuck somewhere, use a flashlight to see eye reflection. Put something that smells like you outside by your doors. put out worn socks, it works they really smell like you. Change those socks everyday so the scent stays strong.

NextDoor app is your best chance as covers your area. Be sure to check your local animal shelter in person (can’t stress - in person!!! You know your pet plus shelter workers are super busy and can’t keep up) every couple days. Follow your pets routine, as weird as it might sound, as this sometimes help. Create a scent station with items that have your smell, your cat’s smell. Bedding, clothing, cat tower, etc. Do NOT put out its litter pan as feces are often used to mark territory. You may inadvertently attract predators or territorial cats. Check in and under everything with a flashlight. Cats don’t go far and freeze in a tight ball in very small areas when scared. But they stare which is where the flashlight comes in handy as it catches their eyes, especially at night. If you cat is not spayed/neutered, may be why is “lost” and traveling further. Pray your baby is home safe and soon. https://www.missinganimalresponse.com/lost-cat-behavior/
