UPDATE: FOUND ❤️
Thank you to Andrea and her husband, and Tana with the animal hospital, for helping us get our old guy back home.
Unfortunately, I also received texts from others claiming they had our dog and were trying to scam us out of money. It’s sad that even during situations like this, some people still try to take advantage of families who are already stressed and worried.
Some things caught my attention and raised red flags 🚩🚩🚩. The picture they sent did resemble him, which was scary. We even used ChatGPT to help yze it because parts of the image didn’t seem right. I’ll post those pictures separately.
I started asking the scammer specific questions, like whether my dog was shaved on his right side. They fell right into it and basically agreed with everything I said my dog had, even when he didn’t.
For anyone who has lost a pet: please watch out for scammers. There are still good people out there who genuinely help and don’t ask for money for finding your pet.
Also, don’t give out too many identifying details in your original post. Keep some information private so you have things only the real finder would know and can use to verify your pet.
Thank you again to everyone who shared, helped, and cared ❤️Read More
Any new pet added within 2 miles of your location will be automatically shared to your Nextdoor feed.
The post will automatically update when a pet is reunited.
