Last year we rescued a small kitten in an abandoned lot. We were also looking after it until the owners could be found. We got nasty comments online that it should be taken to the shelter! We were like no, the shelters are busy enough and we can provide a calm, safe environment in the meantime and of course took it to the vet to check for microchips and to make sure it was ok. Some ‘Karen’ reported us to the local shelters in Richmond that we wouldn’t bring it to a shelter as it was the right thing to do. The shelter calked and also wanted to have us bring it in. We refused as we knew the kitten was better with us while finding her owners. No one claimed the kitten and we think she was dumped. My Mom has the sweetest little cat now. Thank you for helping this sweet kitty. 🐾
