🐾 If you haven't already (these are some suggestions, as you may have already done some of these and some suggestions may not pertain to your situation). If chipped....Immediately alert the chip company and make sure your info is UTD. File a lost report with local shelters. Go there in person on a regular basis. Post on Next Door and PawBoost. Ignore the pay prompts for PawBoost. Download Ring app and ask neighbors to check their footage. Let the postman know, as they know most of the people on their routes. You don’t have to have a Ring doorbell. Put clothes, towels, bedding that smells like you on your porch. Post on as many Lost and Found sites on FB as possible. Do not duplicate posts on the pages as this loses the thread. Dogs usually head north, for some reason, so look in that direction. But obviously check everywhere. Put up clear, simple and brightly colored signs all around the area. Put a sign in your yard with a picture and your phone number. Walk the neighborhood and put flyers on everyone's door. Immediately put out your dog's bed, and some of YOUR dirty clothes (dirty socks are nice and stinky)/blankets (dry in dryer first to enhance smell). Contact all local animal shelters, vets and groomers in your area. Check Craigslist in your area. Some people still put there. Look under found pets or pets for sale. If you live at an Apt complex ask the office mgr to send an email to all tenants, it could be someone that lives there picked him up. Walk don't drive around looking for your baby. The car may muffle your voice 🐾

Hang flyers up immediately in upside down gallon size baggies to protect from the weather, notify local mail carriers, UPS and Fed Ex drivers, and garbage men (they cover a lot of ground), ask neighbors to check their cameras/ring for possible sightings, check shelters daily bc the stray hold is usually only a few days, put her bedding and some of your dirty clothes outside for her to track the scent. Post on Nextdoor app, post on PetFBI.org, and all neighborhood apps, ask businesses to check their cameras. If he is chipped, notify chip company that he is lost. Praying you find her soon. I cannot express enough how important flyers are. Not everyone is on social media.

Lost Dog Tips and Information Please post on Lost Dogs Illinois by registering your pup at https://www.petfbi .org * 🔺If your pup is shy/skittish, please do not post sightings. Good Samaritans may chase your dog and cause your dog to bolt or run into traffic. * 🔺Leave food, water and a scent item (ie unlaundered shirt, towel with your scent on it) where the dog went missing. Oftentimes dogs will return to where they were lost from. * 🔺Share the post and start spreading the word on social media, including Next Door and Neighbors Ring App * 🔺Flyers are most important right now! There are many people not on social media, so the more people that see that flyer, the better. * 🔺Put a large lost dog sign in your yard. * 🔺If chipped, call the chip company asap & make sure it’s registered & up to date! 🔺Make sure you report your dog as missing with the Microchip company * 🔺Alert your Animal Control and Police Department too and check with them daily. SCAM alert! Please be careful with anyone claiming to have your dog and asking for a 6 digit google code to prove you are a human. It is a scam and in full force. Also, beware of anyone asking for money for your dog back. NEVER send money until you have possession of your dog. Please disregard no matter how persistent the scammers are! Good luck! I hope you find your fur baby soon.
