Search 5–10 feet from the exit point: Ferrets rarely travel far, often hiding just outside the door, in crawl spaces, or in the nearest bush, especially when stressed by heat.

Just change the word dog to ferret. But in all honesty I would be posting every hour on next door and on neighbors by ring apps. And that's it. I don't know how long ferrets can survive in the heat. If they can't survive very long I would put a reward first on your post then your major intersection and then your neighborhood cross streets so people can quickly identify where and check their yards. Ask them to check their yards ask them to check places he would be hiding ask them to check their ring cameras.

May not follow up on sightings or recommendations. Slow to respond or no response in the comment section. Type 2: THE PANICKED OWNER Typical level of search effort: Emotional, low organization. ▪️Panicked owners care deeply but need direction. Some are teachable and will quickly change course with instruction. Others will continue with what eases their feelings, even if the tactics are not effective. Oftentimes have anxiety. Example: "My dog is missing! Please help! I'm freaking out!" This type of owner: Likely overwhelmed Emotional panic rather than strategic execution. Forgot to include the location. Loses valuable time during the critical first 24–72 hours because every decision is made in panic/ fight or flight. Type 3: THE ORGANIZED RECOVERY OWNER Typical level of search effort: Very high. Logical, organized, prioritizes which methods are first and quickly executes search tactics. ▪️Organized owners immediately shift into problem-solving mode and throw every available resource at recovering their pet. These owners operate much like law enforcement and search and rescue teams. Has already started a coordinated recovery effort. Makes it easy for strangers to help. Responds quickly to sightings. Continues posting updates. Will usually print flyers, expand the search radius, and keep searching until there's an outcome. Uses every available resource instead of waiting for the phone to ring. Some owners start off as type 2 and move into type 3 as the search continues.

Please use keywords in your post. That way if rescue volunteers are looking for an owner your post will come up. Found color of dog Size of dog Breed of dog Male or female Unique spots on the dog City and state Major intersection. Your location should be first in your post!! The goal isn't to reach everyone in Arizona it's to reach the people in your immediate vicinity. Then bullet point format with details on the pet so people can quickly scan. Use lots of keywords at the bottom of your post. Put your phone number so people can quickly contact you if they see your pet Crop your photos: you want your dog as big as possible. Nice clear picture of the pet from the front And a second one from the side to show identifying markings. You have two seconds to grab people's attention you want to make it count. 0Cut the Walls furniture other dogs people the yard etc out of the photo. Just the pet.
