Message from Owner

URGENT: LOST GREEN-CHEEKED CONURE Name: Lee-Bao (Baybee) Date Missing: March 22, 2026 Location: Sarah P. Duke Gardens, Durham, NC 27701 If you see her or have any information, call or text immediately:. I’ve shared alerts across local( Durham) pet recovery groups, websites, and community forums, but there has been no news so far. While searching the gardens, I noticed that many visitors are from out of town (California, Georgia, New York, and beyond). It’s possible someone visiting the gardens may have seen her, taken her in, or that she may have followed people away from the area. Description: Small parrot (Green-cheeked Conure) Mostly green body Gray scalloped chest Red belly Long reddish-brown tail Distinct white eye rings May have been wearing a small bird diaper or harness (may no longer be on her) She could be high in trees, hiding in bushes, or near buildings around the gardens—or possibly moving toward nearby neighborhoods in search of food and people. On the evening she went missing (around 7:30 PM near the Blomquist Garden entrance), she called out repeatedly for about 30 minutes while circling high in the trees above me. We narrowly missed each other, and after one final call, she flew off and has not responded since. As of March 28 at 7:07pm, it has been about 6 days since she went missing. She may have been taken in by a kind person or could still be in the surrounding area. Please help share this message. I hope it’s not too late. A reward is offered for her safe return — no questions asked. Thank you so much for your help and support.

Posted on Lost and Found birds of the US. https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1Dk715fLtR/?mibextid=wwXIfr We are so sorry to hear your bird is missing. Here are some ideas to assist in your search. *Create a post on Pawboost, NextDoor & Ring, if you haven’t already. *During the daytime: use a wireless Bluetooth speaker to broadcast flock calls or your voice, shake treat bags or anything that might attract attention to food, put the cage out where it can be seen. *During the evening when searching is over, design & print off flyers with photo & contact information. These can be encased in a ziplock to keep weatherproof & posted in areas where allowed like parks, poles & any nearby gathering areas. Also drop off some at vet clinics, pet supply stores, anything within a 5 mile radius. Contact local shelters/rescues & even the police dept - they do pick up found/stray pets all the time. Make sure the world knows - neighbors esp ones that have bird feeders/baths/pools. Hand them out while searching the area. Join every local social media group there is. Run an ad in your local newspaper - some run one for free in lost & found (or cheap). Also check with local bird watcher groups - they’re always out & about. Flyers cannot be placed in mailboxes. *PLEASE CHECK WITH LOCAL ANIMAL SHELTERS & FILE A MISSING PET REPORT*
