Message from Owner

This post is for my lost cat cloud. All white friendly cat. I found his collar in the yard and he’s missing. He likes to roam, but doesn’t go far since he is neutered.

Do this ASAP. Put out items with your scent on it, like an item of dirty clothing, towel, blankets. Put vacuum dust near point of escape since It contains home scents in it. Leave out a bowl of water. (if indoor only cat, will be hiding in silence and fear, either in your yard or neighbors). DO NOT put litter box out it will attract feral cats and predators. Call as may times as possible, but night time is best because its quiet. Ask neighbors if you can check garages, sheds and under decks and their security camera recordings in the mid morning hours, since cats are more likely to come out when it's quiet during the night. Put up 11x17 poster in neighborhood. Use a flashlight at night because you will see a reflection of their eyes, look up trees and post on your local town community page and next-door neighborhood app.

I’m sorry your adorable white cat has failed to return home and is lost, but please try not to fear the worst — Cloud may simply need some extra help getting home. Thoroughly search using a flashlight during the day and especially at dusk (when it's dark and quiet) to determine whether he’s ill or injured and hiding nearby, or stuck somewhere. Check every crack and crevice, look in outbuildings, containers, vehicles, under foundations, sheds and porches, into trees, etc. — call and listen carefully for Cloud’s cries (he may alert you to his location). And it’s important to ask neighbors to do the same and make sure Cloud didn’t hide and became trapped in a shed or garage, etc. Please see this list of step-by-step instructions developed to help others in this situation (click on the link to the PDF) and let me know if you have questions. https://www.dropbox.com/s/huk0d1p6euu74ug/OutdoorCat.pdf?dl=0&fbclid=IwAR2TiOBxtcgt8odNRjcoGicoHsGDWrw3K9N4ox0GATJh4qGdsFD6T6gaXFA In addition, this video explains the temperament and behavior of a lost cat — it may instill hope of finding Cloud. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g2eCoC63B9I Good luck. Please keep us posted on your progress.

The only way a lost cat can find its way home is with its nose. Immediately anything with the cat's scent on it and anything that stinks of you like your smelly socks something that you sweated in overnight and your stinky sneakers even your dirty clothes and your underwear! Cats usually stay within a five house radius of their own home for up to a week sleeping in the bushes and coming out at dusk Dawn and late at night. These are good times to take walks shaking the treat bag and calling for them. Cats can smell up to a whole mile away. So do that immediately and also put this on nextdoor. com and the other lost and found pet sites. Go on those sites looking at pics of found cats too. There might be a match. They tend to come home late at night or early in the morning so if you can keep a window cracked or a door cracked so at least you hear them. Good luck IF YOU HAVE FOUND A CAT: Please post this on all the lost and found pet pages in your county as well as all the neighborhood pages. Look on those pages either type the word bangle in the search boxes or just look at the photos try to make a match to someone that lost this cat. Almost certainly a pet that got out. I did see a similar looking cat on one of the pages. Any vet will check for a chip for free.
