Message from Owner

This is Sanna. She is a 6 month old pregnant female ~ 4-5 weeks into her pregnancy ~ that had gone into foster care in the Karns and Camelot Subdivision area of Knoxville. She unfortunately escaped the morning of 2/16/2026 while the foster was transporting her into a carrier in the grge. She was due to see a vet that morning because of some blood spotting on her bed. Her original location that she was found was my location on Oakwood Hills Ln with the cross street of Bakertown Road. She had been slowly showing up to my hse in the Bakertown Woods area for a month before I was able to successfully trap her. After her 3 day legal stray hold was up, I had coordinated care for her. Unfortunately, the area that she is now lost in is completely foreign to her. Please, if you have ring cameras in that area, I beg of you to look for any sightings. You can contact me directly. I will contact the foster immediately. She has a very domesticated personality while secured and safe indoors. However, she does not experience human interaction the same way outdoors, lost, and scared. If anyone can set out food and water near where their ring cameras may catch any sightings, I’d be forever grateful. She may be willing to enter a trap if you have that available with placing warmed up canned food. Her normal routine of outdoor feedings while still in my area were around the hours of 7:30am and 4-5 o’clock pm. However, now lost in a new area often times cats will only come out after sunset. If you do see her and attempt to trap her, during these next 5 days of rain, placing a tarp over the trap and a blanket inside is what was successful for me. Please, anyone and everyone in that area, keep an eye out for this sweet girl. If you need access to a trap I can assist you with that. Please help in finding Sanna. 🌸

These are general search tips and not all may apply in your situation. Search at night w/ a flashlight (eyes will glow). Check up in trees and inside/under things in your yard and up to 4 - 5 houses away. Search garages, sheds, under decks and bushes, in crawl spaces, behind AC units - any place the cat might be trapped or hiding. Many cats go into hiding mode for safety and won't come when they hear their owner's voice but try calling and try either shaking a can/bag of treats or carrying an open (smelly) can of cat food or fish. Put something w/ the cat's scent on the porch (cat bed, scratching post, sofa pillows). Keep your garage door up enough to allow entry. Keep fresh bowls of water out. Put up large missing cat posters (neon poster board works well), talk to neighbors (leave info for those not home), post on all local social media groups and make sure to check with local animal control at least once a week (better to go in person but at least call and send them a photo). If not found at night with a flashlight, go out during early morning, before dawn, as many cats are active around that time. If not found in a few days, you can always buy a humane cat trap but traps *must* be checked multiple times each day, every day. If the cat is microchipped, please make sure the chip company has your updated contact information. And even if the cat has a chip, you still need to check with animal control as chips sometimes are overlooked or migrate down.

Kimberly Player I don’t have access to the exact address to coordinate search and rescue. I only was provided the proximate area of Karns and Camelot. I’m working towards additional efforts with rescue groups in this area. Any help or direction to rescue and search groups would be so appreciated. I’m so glad you were able to bring your baby back home by way of trapping. I can only hope that Sanna will find enough will to do the same in this unknown area for her. It took me a month in her well known area. 😔

I am so sorry about your Kitty being lost. Put the Owner's worn clothes outside all around the house or where the kitty was lost. Kitties don't go far, but they do hide a lot. When it is quiet and darker, go out and shake her food bowl and treat bag and hopefully she will hear it and come out. Talk quietly to her like you would if she was inside - yelling can scare them, though this is what we want to do because we want them HOME!! Knock on doors. Someone may have taken your Kitty in so she/he doesn't get hurt. Also ck with your Neighbors and ck their storage areas, sheds, etc. I know of a Kitty who was found in a storage room that had only been open for 5 mins. Put out flyers everywhere - stores, intersections, etc., and put the info on your car windows so that it gets the info out to more people. Use multiple actions to find your Pet...using only one may limit your success in getting your Kitty Home. Look inside over and over. Shake treats. Open food cans if you use canned food. - Any sound that the Kitty may come to. They are very good at hiding so she may have never left the house. Check with delivery people (mail, Amazon, Fed Ex, UPS, etc.) to see if they have seen your Pet. I'll be Praying for the Kitty to be found soon! Also, open the door he escaped from and leave open as long as possible. He will try to come back in that same way. This link has some really helpful info as well: https://www.facebook.com/MissingAnimalResponse/ Do be careful of scammers. Some people call or text and say they have your Pet just to get money. Pitiful!!

Go out early morning or after dark and quietly call your cat....chances are you cat is scared and hiding....take a flashlight ...if your cat doesn't come to you, shine it around to see if it catches it's eyes...under bushes and in the trees. Put a BIG, COLORFUL sign at the last place seen so people know where your cat belongs if they spot him or her…ask your neighbors to check sheds, crawl spaces and garages. Go to your local shelters every day or 2 to look for yourself…please don't depend on a phone call. The person you speak to may not be aware that your pet might have been turned in. If possible, leave your door or window open a crack while you're home.
