Message from Finder

He is very skittish and kinda clumsy. Please check your pools, sheds, garages, boat covers, etc. He is very friendly and will almost certainly not be aggressive

Max Housley well, if he goes outside unsupervised, he could have hitched a ride somewhere. Ask your neighbors about visitors and contractors. Don't give up hope! I had a cat go missing in the days before internet who showed up 10 months later like nothing had happened. A friend had an indoor/outdoor cat who got into her visiting father's car. When he left, he didn't realize the cat was in there, and the cat didn't make an appearance until they were 40 miles away 😳 Dad didn't know that was her cat, so he pulled over and let him out 😱 Kitty showed up at home months later on Thanksgiving Day ❤️

Suzy Creamcheese Thank you so much for the pointers. I think we've checked all the boxes except building a catio. But no reason to yet as he isn't back home yet :( . All the neighbors have been notified, got plenty of signs up, done several walkabouts with treats and calling his name gently. I've even put in a request to pet tracking services. There is still some hope, but we're fading fast.

Catherine E. Housley thank you for having him neutered and microchipped ❤️ Be sure to contact the chip company and tell them that he's missing. Also make sure your contact info is up-to-date on their website. If you haven't already, put up flyers everywhere as many people aren't on social media. Give flyers to every vet clinic, rescue, and shelter in the area in case he turns up. Having his picture in their hands will help keep him at the forefront of their minds. Ask your neighbors to check their cameras, garages, sheds, and crawlspaces. Ask them all if they had any visitors or contractors doing work on their houses around the time he went missing. If so, call the visitors and businesses and ask them if they had an accidental stowaway. Look up in trees in case he was chased. Walk the neighborhood in the wee hours with a flashlight and look for glowing eyes. Call him in a regular voice (not panicked) and gently shake a treat bag if he likes that kind of stuff. If he's injured or scared, he's probably hunkered down and hiding, but he may not answer you when you call. That's just instinctual, as a vocal cat gives away their location to predators, and an injured cat is prey. Put his beds/ blankets and some of your dirty clothes on your porches and around the perimeter of your yard. When he comes home, you might consider building or buying a catio (some people have bought pre-made chicken coops and "attached" them to their houses with kitty access through a window); or, if you have a fenced-in yard, consider putting up cat-fencing or coyote rollers on top of the fence to keep h safely in your yard (both can be DIY). Good luck ❤️

Please check your sheds, boat covers, pools, etc. He may have gotten trapped in one of these kinds of places. We are so worried about him!

Suzy Creamcheese he's neutered and microchipped. We called the SPCA and they don't have him. He's indoor/outdoor but usually stays within earshot of our house.

Is he neutered? Microchipped? Outdoor only, or indoor with outdoor supervision?
