(1) Contain the pet so it is safe from danger and escaping. (2) Scan for microchip (vet, shelters, area pet stores) should do it for free (3) Notify animal control ITS THE LAW TO DO THIS (file a found report on the Found area do not have to turn in but file ) OWNERS will CHECK there first. If you can’t contain, please ask them to pick up or take to shelter, much safer there than on streets.
