Sometimes they crawl into dresser drawers or bed drawers from underneath and sleep in peace like the deaf.

To keep your indoor cat from escaping through an outside door, open the door a few inches when they are close to it and give them a couple of squirts of water. Doing this two or three times will usually discourage them from ever trying to run outside again. I’ve done this with all of my cats, including some that had been strays and used to being outside. It’s worked for every one of them.

Take a flash light and look under steps , cars, veranea. Light will showup eyes. Do not call. You can try putting dirty laundry with your smell.then leave door ajar for a bit. Hope this helps
