Most likely your cat is near by. These are steps you should follow.....1) Sprinkle lots of cat nip near the door he got out from and your yard.2) Leave an unlaundered Tshirt or article of clothing(someone mentioned socks) near the door. 3) Go outside and call him frequently or when possible....especially at night when there is less traffic noise. 4) Pass out flyers with his picture and your phone number on it, put in peoples mailbox's and talk to as many neighbors as possible (this is how I got my cat back, years ago). 5) go out in the evening around your neighborhood....look closely under bushes, porch steps etc.... using a FLASH LIGHT. Cats eyes will shine like reflectors when the light is used. 6) Put real TUNAFISH outside near your door. 7)Please do not put the litter box outside.
