Message from Owner

Beckett is a cherished indoor only cat only that managed to sneak out yesterday. We are terribly worried about her as she isn’t an outside cat. She’s a little skittish so please don’t chase her. Thank you for looking.

Put smelly wet food outside, hav a hart traps work, check them often. At night shine a flashlight you may catch reflection of his eyes. Check shed, garages, under cars, anyplace he could hide or be stuck. Put up flyers, especially at vet offices. Talk to neighbors, ask if they have security cameras that may catch him walking by. They tend to move early morning and evenings. Put out fav humans worn clothes, familiar smells help bring them in. If possible, leave a patio or garage door open so he can get in. Contact rescues & county shelters, take a pic. Physically check county shelter often, they are busy. She will be very scared & may go into survival mode, she may not respond to you. Some wait until they're starving to come out for food. Keep food/trap out & check often. If you have another cat, try putting them outside in a SECURE carrier. Their meows may call the lost one in. Pray. Don't give up!

*Generally cats don't wander too far off in the first few days of going missing so acting quickly helps * When you go searching always take a flashlight as that will reflect the cats eyes in dark places. go searching late and early when its quiet, shake treats, call and listen * Look up Trees/roof tops, empty houses * Look In hedges, bushes, shrubs, ditches * Under decking and under sheds garages, tarps * Behind bins and under cars in case injured * Down any steep embankments, rabbit holes, ponds, drains, water butts * Gaps In between fences and buildings * Ask people to leave sheds garages open a while to give a trapped cat time to escape as they wont just run out, they hide in fear * When searching in bushes etc,get down to cat level as its easier to see them * Put posters up * Check any outdoor cameras and ask neighbors to check also, see if he/she was picked up or got in a vehicle * Make sure there is a way for your cat to get back in your house, even when you are asleep, maybe wedge open the cat flap, or leave a window open * Contact all vets in the area, local cat rescues and microchip company to let them know in case they have any reports of found cats

I am so sorry your cat is missing ! 😢 As soon as you can Set a trap if you can watch over it with some of your unwashed clothing, her favorite blanket, litter box and tuna or sardines. Make flyers to hang up and drop off to shelters and humane society. Take in litter box and trap at night bc of predators. I hope you find her safe soon! If you get her back safe get a catio to try to keep him in ! She is so cute! I’ll share
