TIPS TO HELP FIND YOUR LOST DOG:
Talk to as many neighbors as possible.
Ask neighbors to check their ring/ surveillance cameras.
🔥If you have another dog, please bring that dog with you as you search. 🔥
✔️ Place his/her bedding and a few pieces of your unwashed clothing/socks outside and share on the Nextdoor App. Put a bowl of water (no food) in your front yard. He/she may be able to pick up the scent and find his/her way home.
✔️ Walk around the area calling to your dog and shaking a bag/box of treats or squeezing a favorite squeaky toy.
Go door to door and talk to as many people as possible!
✔️ If he/she is microchipped contact the microchip company to report him/her lost and update your contact information.
✔️ If there’s a homeless population nearby, be sure to check with them. They may have seen some thing that others didn’t notice!
✔️ Hang flyers (use a bright color board or paper) with your dog's picture in your neighborhood, surrounding areas, local shopping centers, businesses, vet's offices, groomers, etc. within a five mile radius from your home.
✔️ Go door to door with the flyers as well and try to speak with people when handing out flyers. Talk to the mailman and UPS/FedEx/delivery drivers! They see a lot!
✔️ Make a sign with his/her picture and put it in your front yard stating he/she is missing.
✔️ File a lost report with the shelters in your area and surrounding area shelters too (you can usually do it online).
✔️ Check shelters in person, daily if possible. Ask to see dogs in isolation too.
✔️ Check shelter websites as well.
✔️ Check shelter found reports for dogs found but not at the shelter.
✔️ Take a flyer to the shelters.
✔️ File online with Pawboost.Read More
