Found in the middle of the road, I can hold on to it but I can't keep it. Been turned down by shelters and humane society's because they are full. Didn't realize cats were considered "county cockroaches". I called 7 places in and around Athens and have never heard so many people react with such disdain and I'm not even a cat person. Please help me find this baby a home.

Hi! The Oconee county animal services shelter is open for intake and is not turning down kittens. But no matter where finder lives, kitten must be taken to the shelter in the county where it was found. You can find their business hours on their websites. Only municipal shelters are allowed to take in strays/found animals. Rescue groups and humane societies are not allowed to take in strays/found animals. They can take owner surrenders at their discretion and pull animals from shelters after the stray hold is up.
