Light gray fur looks to be older timid and scared but I believe it’s a male but not 100% sure he came right to me when I found him

I was riding back home from the store with my mom when I saw what I thought was a cat in the road but once we got closer seen it was a little dog going back and forth in the road so when we got home I asked my mom if I could take my electric scooter to see if I could catch him cause we were scared that he wouldnt be seen easily and get hit by a car cause he’s so small and she said yes if it will come to you and that’s exactly what he did we asked someone who happened to be outside if it was theirs or if they knew whose dog it was and she said no but she was glad we were able to get him outta the road cause she had been trying for a good amount of time to catch him herself with no luck I will try to keep him until I find his owner but I can’t make any guarantees but if anything I will take him to the animal shelter before just letting him go
