Description

MISSING - recently unwell, long-haired older black cat with docked tail, last wearing a blue collar with bells and a black Tractive GPS tracker.

Message from Owner

The last recorded location of our senior cat, Draven, was July 30th at 11:10PM on Ledgewood Dr. of Hesswood Hills, just a short distance from home. According to Tractive, Draven’s GPS tracker was MANUALLY powered off by someone hours later at 3:11AM. Over a year ago, Draven and my neighbor’s cat disappeared at the same time, then weeks later they were both discovered miles away at Buzzards Roost, within days of each other. *We suspected then that someone did this to them, so I have no doubt that the same person took Draven out of the neighborhood again this time, despite my efforts to keep close tabs on him with a tracker.* I strongly believe someone with cruel intentions took our cat. Please help us bring him home.

I would do anything to try to find him, including quizzing the person who was responsible for his disappearance the prior time. As you said, someone had to manually turn off his tracking tag so SOMEONE knows what happened and possibly where he is....

Melinda Myers we didn’t LET him outside that night, specifically because he had been unwell, was pretty freaked out by his vet visit, and was scheduled to return for bloodwork (IF we were successful at medically toning down his spiciness in the following days). Ever had such a ferocious ball of scissorhands, so unmanageable that their vet visits inevitably end bloody with the phrase "Technically, you’re only legally obligated to give him the rabies vaccine" echoing through the hallway? Senior probably wasn’t the right choice of words. I will take that out. Draven isn’t old, and aside from his recent illness, he definitely hasn’t slowed down at 14. We didn’t realize he had made his way out until we couldn’t find him in his spots the next morning. Then I found him on our Ring camera history. A small but mighty boy—determined to be outdoors and fancy-free—Draven has NEVER been easily contained. As a pet "parent" to very independent, street-born cats, I know the risks of letting my animals outside. So will my efforts to find my kitty be stifled by shame, or should l have to forfeit my love for them and not do everything I can to find and bring them back home?

I would've kept him inside, or at least built him a catio, after the FIRST incident. Cats are not safe outside.....too many crazy people, animals, cars, etc., esp. a senior cat who should have a quiet place in his senior years, and esp. since you noted he's been unwell lately. Hope you find him soon. If you know who took him the last time, I'd be questioning that person....sounds like a sicko...
