Message from Owner

Lilo is very flighty and likely to run off when approached she is a hse cat and not used to being outside, she escaped from the hse on Friday and has struggled to get herself back. She's not very good at jumping and is very good at hiding.

I am sorry your cat has not come home. All of the information given is good advice. I would just add most cats are found close to home within 10 houses or so and 8 out of 10 are trapped in somewhere. So extremely important that you speak to all of your neighbours methodically missing no one out. They may know your cats routine. Ask if you can search garages, sheds etc when they are not there. People who don't have cats don't always know where to look or appreciate how well they can hide. Also cats tend to go deeper into hiding if they hear a strange voice. Failing this ask them to leave doors open so your cat can leave if inside. If there is anywhere you have not been allowed or able to search yourself get as close as you possibly can and call your cats name gently. Always listen very carefully and wait a while before moving on. Remember to check under shrubs and under and between fences. Do not rely on neighbours to do what they say they will do. Please check, check and check again as cats that are scared often don't respond even to owners voice for several days. Go with your gut instinct and don't be afraid of being a nuisance. Keep speaking to your neighbours. Also worthwhile speaking to posties and delivery people. It is your voice and familiar smells that will encourage your cat to come home if it can. I don't think your cat is far away.
