Maria Harvey Be sure to contact the chip company and tell them that she's missing. If you haven't already, put up flyers everywhere as many people aren't on social media. Give flyers to every vet clinic, rescue, and shelter in the area in case she turns up. Ask all of your neighbors to check their cameras, garages, sheds, and crawlspaces. Ask them all if they had any visitors or contractors doing work on their houses around the time she went missing. If so, contact the visitors and businesses and ask them if they had an accidental stowaway. Look up in trees in case she was chased. Walk the entire neighborhood in the wee hours with a flashlight and look for glowing eyes. Call her in a regular voice (not panicked) and gently shake a treat bag if she likes that kind of stuff. If she's injured or scared, she's probably hunkered down and hiding nearby. She may not answer you when you call, but that's instinctual, as a vocal cat gives away their location to predators, and an injured cat is prey. Put her beds/ blankets and some of your dirty clothes on your porches and around the perimeter of your yard. When she comes home, you might consider building or buying a catio (some people have bought pre-made chicken coops and "attached" them to their houses with kitty access through a window); or, if you have a fenced-in yard, consider putting up cat-fencing or coyote rollers on top of the fence to keep her safely in your yard. It is really important to take flyers all through the neighborhood, and offer a REWARD! Not everyone is on social media, they NEED a flyer. This is one of the most effective ways to find a lost cat. Praying.

Hope these tips help and your cat is home quickly; 1. Make sure to thoroughly check trees. 2 Stay outside looking ( even just sitting outside) as much and long as possible. 3 Check outside hiding places. 4 once cats get out and scared their feral instincts may kick in and she’ll be less likely to come out. Be patient and 5 use flashlight at night to look for reflective eyes under bushes , decks, etc 6 post on Nextdoor 7 Leave posters at vets and shelters and surrounding neighborhoods 8 post on any local neighborhood fb pages 9 ask neighbors to check garages, sheds, under decks, trees, etc 10 while cats won’t typically track scent, they do know your scent. Put something you’ve worn by your doors as comfort when they get near
