UPDATE: She was behind neighbour homes down the street last night at the end of Coverton Mews NE and in the alleyways around it but we were not able to catch her as she continued to run away when approached too closely, although we did get her to take some treats near us. We are going to set some humane traps in areas where we saw her and at home, so if anyone sees her, please don’t walk up to her or chase her. If you sit down, she might come up to you. Please just comment here or reach out to us through this listing with her location, photos if possible and when she was seen. It is unlikely that she will let someone pick her up right now. She does love the liquid of Friskies cans, and temptations treats as well, if it’s possible that she has calmed down enough to be coaxed in that way. She also finds laser pointers fun and that could be a way to get her to go inside someone’s house.

Thank you. We are doing these things and are switching off looking for her around the clock. It has mostly been raining and cold, so I think she is likely hiding somewhere nearby or trapped in a garage or shed. We can’t leave the door open because the other cats can get out, but we have the garage door cracked. We have dirty clothes and towels and blankets outside on the ground near the fence where she escaped but we will try the trees too. We are handing out flyers right now to all neighbours and posting laminated signs as well. We will put up a camera with motion detection. My biggest concern is our fence is 8 feet tall from the outside..

Time is of the essence. Cats don’t go far from home. Don’t wait for social media to bring your cat home, you need to be proactive. Leave the door/window the kitty exited from open 24/7. If unable, then crack garage door open 24/7 enough to get in. Hang worn clothes and/or your pillow case in a tree or on top of shrubs to create a scent trail. Knock on neighbors doors ASAP with a picture asking them to keep an eye out. See if they can check Ring cameras for any sighting. Post signs with kitty’s picture as many as possible, include surrounding neighborhoods. Go out late at night with a flashlight, shaking a bag of food, calling kitty’s name, looking under shrubs for their shining eyes. Post on Ring, Nextdoor and check shelters. Don’t give up. 💕
