šŸšØ PLEASE HELP US FIND MITTENS šŸšØ Our beloved 19-year-old cat, Mittens, is missing after unexpectedly getting outside. She is an indoor cat and is not wearing a collar. We just relocated to Davidson County, NC from Massachusetts last week, so Mittens is completely unfamiliar with the area and may be scared and hiding nearby. She has been part of our family for 19 years, and we are absolutely heartbroken. šŸ’” Please keep an eye out around your homes, porches, sheds, garages, bushes, and other places where she may have found somewhere to hide. šŸ™ Please help us bring our sweet girl home. Put out some worn clothing on your porch. Notify all your neighbors she is missing and ask them to check under their decks, house and in their garage and any outbuildings they might have. Put up flyers with her picture and your phone number around your neighborhood. Flyers work. Lots of people have found their cats because neighbors saw their flyers. You might also want to go out and look after dark with a flashlight and softly call her name. They typically donā€™t stray too far from home. Litter boxes outside can attract strays and coyotes. Donā€™t trust any drone companies unless you personally know someone that has used them. They prey on people with missing pets for money.

Shared. In my experience I have been successful putting out unwashed laundry in lieu of litter boxes. Also since she is most likely very close by watching for her once things become very quiet, usually after midnight and being present, calling calmly for her. ļæ¼Calm is very important.

BRING A LOST CAT HOME: Saw this in a magazine at the vet's office. Apparently cats can smell up to a mile away. The advice for bringing a lost kitty home was this: Put her used litter box under your porch or near your door. Make a trail of used litter from the street to the box. I turned on my porch light, too. Our cat had gotten outside and was gone for 8 days. I made the litter trail, put a box of used litter under the steps, and prayed that she'd catch the scent. 20 minutes later my husband looked out the kitchen door and she was waiting on the mat to come in. TWENTY minutes. I'm sure we got exceptionally quick results, but it must work for a lot of people. It was like a miracle to see her in front of the door. I hope you find your furbaby. I realize you may have cleaned the box, but if any other cats have used it, yours will still recognize the scent. At least that's what happened for us.

Kimberly RE Broker I totally understand how you feel. And this is not a tracker that Iā€™m recommending. This is a ā€œcat detectiveā€œ by the name of Kim Freeman. My husband found her on the Internet when our cat got out. He stayed hidden for 11 days. And I know that kind of hopeless feeling. Heā€™s the one in my profile pic next to my calico.
