Please get the dogs bed, blanket or toy on your porch, or some covered area, with worn clothing from their favorite human. Recommend using a shirt worn that day (swapping it out each night) or a slept on pillow case. Crack garage door enough for them to get in and put food and fresh water there. Submit lost dog form on petharbor.com, pawboost.com, https://www.fidofinder.com/, HelpingLostPets.com, lostmydoggie.com, www.pawmaw.com, https://www.houstonspca.org/programs-and-services/found-animals/?fbclid=IwAR0AVfyN1SrV2qYpDgDxZi8H17HmNZ08Ar_Mplj53TT1V4LILx0yxSkBaJs. https://www.houstonhumane.org/adopt-a-pet/our-adoptables Search the above sites daily, but dont specify the color, breed or info in the search criteria since it can be entered wrong in the system. Post on nextdoor for your area and/or lost and found pets Facebook pages for the area, depending on this site this post is on. Call all of the local vets and pet stores to see if anyone took them to be checked for a chip. Leave your contact info with them so they can call you immediately if someone brings them in. Check the shelters in person: Conroe. Humble. Montgomery co. Houston Humane Society. HOUSTON SPCA. Harris co. BARC. VAP. . Keeping in mind someone from another side of town may find them and take them to their nearest shelter. Call the shelters regularly to make sure someone hasnt tried to turn in your dog as a stray. Get fliers up asap and put one in owners yard so the owner can be found if dogs found nearby. Give flier to mail carrier and lawn guys who are out and about in the neighborhood. Knock on doors to see if the dog is hiding in a garage, shed or yard. This and getting fliers up helps in case someone who doesnt use social media finds the dog. If your dog is scared and in survival mode, your best bet may to be to sit in your car with the windows open and car off. Have some freshed cooked chicken and sit nearest the last known location/sighting for as long as you can. I highly recommend watching this Asher House video as it describes a real lost dog incident and the successful method used to get the scared pet back safe. https://fb.watch/i1COAg60LX/ If you have a general timeframe of when the pup went missing (within a day). . Check with neighbors and area businesses to see if they have security cameras that may have caught when exactly the puppy left the location and what direction they went in. Also ensure someone didnt take the puppy from the location intentionally or possibly a passerby (a Walker or driver) picked them up to keep them safe. Post lost info/photo on ring.com if you have access as it will reach nearby neighbors Search Facebook for rescues (especially breed specific) in case your pup was found and given to a local rescue. If the dog is chipped, immediately go on to the chip profile to ensure it's registered, contact info accurate and flagged as lost. DO NOT assume the shelters or vets will catch the chip. Unfortunately I have personally found lost chipped pets in the shelters that intake missed the chips on initial intake scan. So if a pet looks like yours and shelter says it's not chipped, see the pet in person. ***MUST DO TIP FOR SHELTER CHECKS*** When searching petharbor.com (now 24petconnect.com ), it's best to select a location central to the Houston area. I use Spring, TX. When you get to the site, you need to click on "Lost my Pet, " Then it will prompt you to enter a zip code. Always double check to ensure you still have "Lost my pet" selected in case it asks for a zip code first. Next Click on "Change Filters." You will have to enter the zip code again. Enter the miles range. Keep in mind people can and will lie about where they found a pet if it will get a shelter to take the animal. So, your pet may be turned in to a shelter in another county from where they went missing. I recommend using like an 80-90 mile search range to pick up as many area shelters as possible. Then click on "Select Shelters." You will want to select ALL Shelters to be safe. If you click on the paw icon in upper left corner that says Select All, that should turn all of the paws in the list from white to black (meaning they are selected). Click the "Select" button. If you scroll down, the criteria options will allow you to specify breed/ and such. DO NOT SPECIFY THE AGE, COLOR, BREED, or anything else for the dog. Humans can make mistakes during intake and data entry so Age, and spay/neuter status can all be wrong in the shelters system. So, always leave the search criteria specifics for the dog blank/open. Next click "Confirm Search" and a list of intakes will generate starting with the most recent intake. If any dog looks like yours, ALWAYS go and check in person. Microchips can be missed. Collars may have fallen off before getting to the shelter. Finders can lie about where the dog was found, when they were found or could have claimed the dog was theirs in order to get the shelter to take them as an owner surrender. Remember, shelters only have to hold the dog for 72 hrs. At that point they can euthanize, transfer to a rescue or adopt out your pet. You must act immediately to get your dog back safe. Be sure to submit a lost dog form on the site as well so that shelters are notified of your missing pet. This does not 100% guarantee that if your pet is turned in, they will catch them and call you so it is always safer to continue calling/going to the shelter and checking the site daily for new intakes. **SCAMS TO WATCH FOR** If someone messages/emails/texts you about your missing pet and requests, demands or brings up needing a code from you. Do NOT communicate further with the person. Do NOT click on any links they sent you. This is a scam attempt. I'm hearing it happening a lot in connection with the pawboost. Do not let it deter you from using the site to send out a lost dog flier and to check found fliers daily because a lot of good people use and are reunited with their pets on the site. Unfortunately there are always evil people out there who take advantage of those in vulnerable situations so they use the site as way to contact you claiming they have your pet to scam you or try to collect reward money. Always remember, there is no reason for anyone to send or request any kind of Code from/to you. That is a red flag. I pray you find your baby soon.

At risk of getting hurt, shot, killed, taken and used for dog fighting bait! 🤬 Get family/friends to help you search!! Place an item with your scent on it outside your home, ( you will have to repeat this if it is raining)contact neighborhood police /constable to keep an eye out, contact neighborhood vets in case someone tried to get help.. Check parks, shelters, animal rescue groups ,Nextdoor. Com, ditches ( hiding from noises) neighborhood garages, dumpsters( might be hungry) Keep posting! Don't forget to get your pet microchipped and registered if not already done( Texas Law in most Counties)! Good luck!!

Put your clothes and shoes outside with your scents and her food and water. Open gate and garage some in case she finds her way back. Let neighbors know. Also look late eve and early morning when less noise and less people. ******* Look under cars and if she is walking near or between homes. Pray for safe return 🙏 Call local veterinary clinics and shelters and animal control. Keep looking today and into evening when less noise. I pray you get her safely. Ask neighbors to help. 🙏look close to home again. . I would go door to door asking everyone near your house. Go to neighborhood next to you also. Look now in eve when less traffic less noise and early morning. Take her toy that makes noise. She will recognize sound. Don't give up. 🙏🙏🙏 Offer a reward.
