Description

Tuxedo Cat, living in my backyard emaciated and injured. I'm feeding the kitty but it needs help! Kitty is wary but clearly was a friendly kitty at some point in time. This beautiful tuxedo cat has some of the longest white whiskers I have ever seen. I hope we can reunite this cat with their family.

Mary Adishian Ruiz I was wondering about a warmer place for kitty, you are saying I just need to put something out like a large box and kitty will inhabit it?

Set a humane trap asap. See if OAS if a nearby rescue group can help trap the poor kitty! Try posting on Nextdoor ti see if someone can lend you a trap. Keep food and water out there in the meantime and made a cardboard box or large crate to be comfy in. Thanks for keeping this beautiful cat safe in the keantinec

Laura Diane 👍🏻 They are a great group! My daughter found a kitten under the seats at an A’s game. They asked for the seat number and caught the kitty a few days later🙏🏻

Maureen O'Neil I reached out to a neighborhood person to start with and would go to OAS if that does not work out.

🐱💜Dear kind compassionate neighbor. I ADORE people like you who look out for the often ignored lost/stray roaming kitty. Thank you for saving this kitty’s life! Thank you for providing water and wet food this kitty needs to help heal ... Thank you from the bottom of my heart.🐱💜 🐱 Lost cats REMAIN very near their last residence …Unfortunately many kitty guardians give up WAY TOO SOON on the search assuming kitty is never coming back or deceased (not realizing how close they remain and/or sometimes they're trapped in a garage etc) Kitty could belong to an elderly person who lives alone and doesn't use the internet or know how to find kitty (or can't physically get around well). And some cats get abandoned…. 🐱 MOST (if not all) of the neighbors that live on your block - will NOT see any of these posts on pawboost, nextdoor or facebook. So Informing your neighbors in person is KEY. The neighbors around your block and across the street are exactly who need to be informed via FLYERS and/or knocking on doors and asking. THE BEST THING TO DO To find out if kitty has a guardian: 🐱💜 SCAN KITTY FOR MICROCHIP: Continue winning kitty’s trust with food ...it possible to Get kitty safely inside a SECURE cat carrier (try putting dry treats inside and sit patiently and wait - he may or may not go in...RENT A HUMANE TRAP and start placing the wet food halfway inside the trap with the door clamped open so the door cannot shut...then the next time place the food all the way behind the trip plate and set the trap so it will close when kitty goes all the way inside...Any vet or shelter will scan kitty (Free) hopefully kitty has a microchip with guardian’s up to date contact information. If no microchip (or unable to get kitty into carrier) please bring kitty inside (where it is safe from coyotes) into a bathroom or bedroom or closet and print FLYERS… 🐱💜PRINT “FOUND- IS THIS YOUR CAT” FLYERS (Download Template/s below) Post up Flyers around your block on both sides of every lamppost - and distribute flyers door to door around the block and across the street to all your neighbors . KNOCK ON DOORS and ask if anyone knows where this sweet kitty lives... leave a note or FLYER or MINI-FLYER if not home ( use that blue painters tape to adhere directly to front doors or mailboxes so they are noticed. (don’t place mini flyers inside mailboxes they will get lost) You want to cover ALL possibilities. Spreading the word IN PERSON and online/ 💜💜💜 💜💜💜 Of 3 cats I helped to reunite most recently , 2 were microchipped (chip company reached out to the guardian while I kept the cat in a bedroom or bathroom and 1 cat was NOT chipped so I printed mini flyers and full page flyers. I used painters tape to tape MINI flyers to every resident’s front door around the entire block (kitty was in the backyard) and posted up flyers on lampposts and within 24 hours the guardian called! Not all cats have this happy ending but gosh it's the best feeling to help reunited a kitty with their guardian - thank you for helping ‘found’ cats get home. And if kitty is homeless, prayfully you might foster the cat until you can find a loving home… 💜💜💜 💜💜💜 → MINI FLYER TEMPLATE: I use painter’s tape to tape these directly onto front doors (or on the outside of mailboxes if no access to front doors..though I ring doorbells of buildings to gain access!) https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1aph-oFF28d_G4StFCTHa5SAaGbLVIEpb/edit?usp=sharing&ouid=102845077284118854428&rtpof=true&sd=true → FOUND (SHY) CAT FLYER - TEMPLATE https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Lgfdj7rfRvZa5NhiNvMCxbu_wnKPs73Z/edit?usp=sharing&ouid=102845077284118854428&rtpof=true&sd=true 🐱💜 PLACE FLYERS you post-up on lamp posts inside those ‘clear sheet protectors’ with the opening facing down’ so FLYERS don’t get ruined by weather (google clear sheet protectors - they sell at staples, target, fedex print stores and amazon) Use alot of Clear Painter’s tape to post up on lampposts. You can buy packing and painters tape, clear sheet protectors Flyer sheet protectors on amazon: https://drive.google.com/file/d/10I_aHnjJ9rX6rYbGi6v7AWUTJVqggIxD/view?usp=sharing You can get FLYERS printed at your local FEDEX print store via online COPY order for pick up- cheaper than most. Let me know if you need help creating the flyer - (free) ONLINE: 🐱 Post on Nextdoor.com in your neighborhood and also post on the 'Cat Owner' group: 1. NEXTDOOR INVITE: https://nextdoor.com/invite/tlpjrfjfsfzzypgctspp 2. INVITE TO NEXTDOOR ‘CAT OWNERS GROUP:https://nextdoor.com/g/qazvu50sq/ 🐱 Report ‘Found’ cat at your local animal shelter/s. 🐱Check your local animal shelter/s for ‘LOST’ cats reported online. 🐱💜Thank you again for being a true angel 🐱💜 🐱💜 Damia foti 650-339-6619 (www.happycatlady.com)
