All the above advice + Make sure you go to the shelters, animal control, humane societies & every rescue you can think of in person and check for your dog or cat as often as you can. Don’t rely on just calling to check for them. The shelters are understaffed and overwhelmed right now, they may not recognize your dog or cat from a description over the phone. And, put up flers & post on love of louie, next door, etc., etc

Please post on nextdoor, ring doorbell,pawboost, petcolove, and any city, county, or state lost and found sites.. Put some dirty clothes out and some hot smelly food, like cooked chicken,hamburger, sausage. get some liquid smoke(it's in with the Bar-B-Q sauce at the store), put it in a squirt bottle with some water and spray it around your yard, up in the trees. It smells like Bar-B-Q. Contact police department and shelters as well as vets. Get flyers up ASAP.They are so IMPORTANT! They should be in at least a 3mi radius from where he/ she went missing. Not everyone has social media. You will get more sightings from signs than anything else. Make sure to put on the sign, DO NOT CHASE OR CALL OUT TO. GET PIC AND CALL YOUR#. Just some hints for when you're looking for a lost dog. Don't call out to them when looking for them. It will most likely make them run. Make sure you have a leash and hotdogs or a small bag of cheetos with you.. If you see them, pretend they're invisible. Don't look at them in the eyes, drop to the ground, start slowly throwing hot dogs or cheetos in their direction. They will be trying to get your scent. Hopefully they will come to you.
