Description

LOST/MISSING, large 16 lb Tabby, 5 yrs old. Puffy raccoon tail, white just at his mouth. Still looking for him. Potential sightings on ring cameras. Spotted in wooded neighborhoods, nearby ridges, hunting dinner. Please call me at if you see him. He maybe skittish, maybe tired of living on the land šŸ¾šŸ™.

Message from Owner

Colin lives inside/outside via cat door available to hse and cellar. Current on all shots and rabies. He will "hunt" for critters. May be a little skidish.

Don’t give up as I say keep sharing and posting. I’ve seen them come home after eight months, but check with all your neighbors and ask them to check their garages at crawlspaces to see if he got locked up somewhere.

Check your neighbors, garages, attics, and crawlspaces. They can get locked up in areas like this. It happens more often than one would think… My sister’s cat got locked up in her neighbors garage for three days at Christmas because they were traveling… Also check drain, culverts, and areas like that… cats can smell up to a mile so putting out some of your dirty laundry like work clothes or dirty shoes that kind of thing will help draw them back to your area… It is coyote season so I pray that’s not the situation… But posting flyers will get you a better response from your missing pet you see flyers more than social media. A lot of people are not on missing pet sites. Don’t give up keep posting keep sharing but definitely post those flyers. I usually buy cheap page protectors. You can get a box of 50 at Walmart for seven dollars. It helps to keep the weather out.

I am so sorry about your Kitty being lost. Put the Owner's worn clothes outside all around the house or where the kitty was lost. Kitties don't go far, but they do hide a lot. When it is quiet and darker, go out and shake her food bowl and treat bag and hopefully she will hear it and come out. Take a flashlight out at night. Kitty’s eyes will reflect and make the kitty easier to see. Talk quietly to her like you would if she was inside - yelling can scare them, though this is what we want to do because we want them HOME!! Knock on doors. Someone may have taken your Kitty in so she/he doesn't get hurt. Also ck with your Neighbors and ck their storage areas, sheds, etc. I know of a Kitty who was found in a storage room that had only been open for 5 mins. Put out flyers everywhere - stores, intersections, etc., and put the info on your car windows so that it gets the info out to more people. Use multiple actions to find your Pet...using only one may limit your success in getting your Kitty Home. Look inside over and over. Shake treats. Open food cans if you use canned food. - Any sound that the Kitty may come to. They are very good at hiding so she may have never left the house. Check with delivery people (mail, Amazon, Fed Ex, UPS, etc.) to see if they have seen your Pet. I'll be Praying for the Kitty to be found soon! Also, open the door he escaped from and leave open as long as possible. He will try to come back in that same way. This link has some really helpful info as well: https://www.facebook.com/MissingAnimalResponse/ Do be careful of scammers. Some people call or text and say they have your Pet just to get money. Pitiful!!

These are general search tips and not all may apply in your situation. Search at night w/ a flashlight (eyes will glow). Check up in trees and inside/under things in your yard and up to 4 - 5 houses away. Search garages, sheds, under decks and bushes, in crawl spaces, behind AC units - any place the cat might be trapped or hiding. Many cats go into hiding mode for safety and won't come when they hear their owner's voice but try calling and try either shaking a can/bag of treats or carrying an open (smelly) can of cat food or fish. Put something w/ the cat's scent on the porch (cat bed, scratching post, sofa pillows). Keep your garage door up enough to allow entry. Keep fresh bowls of water out. Put up large missing cat posters (neon poster board works well), talk to neighbors (leave info for those not home), post on all local social media groups and make sure to check with local animal control at least once a week (better to go in person but at least call and send them a photo). If not found at night with a flashlight, go out during early morning, before dawn, as many cats are active around that time. If not found in a few days, you can always buy a humane cat trap but traps *must* be checked multiple times each day, every day. If the cat is microchipped, please make sure the chip company has your updated contact information. And even if the cat has a chip, you still need to check with animal control as chips sometimes are overlooked or migrate down. Please search often and don't give up hope.
