Open a Lost Cat Report with the SPCA via spca.com Save his soiled cat litter box. Sprinkle some of her soiled litter on the side of your stairs, and on the earth of the shrubs that you share with immediate neighbors. You can also put some on aluminum foil sheets , cup them and place in the bushes on your property. Save some soiled litter to repeat this tip should it rain. the familiar scent will attract him. Follow up daily with Proanima as well. If he has a microchip, notify the microchip company.

My cat was missing for 3 1/2 weeks. I did everything people suggested. But when the S.P. C. A told me to put something of his and something if mine that he loved to lie on. So I made a little shelter and put out his bed and my housecoat because he loved lying on them plus both had his scent on them. After I did this one Saturday morning I found him sleeping in it. He was so skinny and tired. But because he was gone for awhile he became a bit feral. So I open my door and let me other cat cry for him through the screen. He came right into the house. Hope this works for you too. Good luck and don't give up hope. A

Microchip? Probably not far. Do all this: Check all sheds, garages, under porches around: could be stuck. Crucial to keep going out each night and early in the mornings, calling and shaking the treats/kibble bag. There's controversy over putting out litter but I know people who do. Put his/her used litter box outside on the balcony/front porch/outside where you think she got out, for him/her to smell and reorient herself home. Also put out some of your old used clothing with your smell on it for the same reason. Check the sheds and garages in the area. When it gets dark outside, go outside and shake a box of treats while calling his/her name; call in a very high and calm voice, every quarter of an hour or twenty minutes, for a full 5 minutes, and do this every half hour minimum, for a minimum of 3 hours in total, and at minimum call your cat 6 times a night, more if you wish, also in early morning before noise of day muffles you hearing her mewing back at you.

Very important to put up flyers in and around the area (for people not on FB). Even place them inside mailboxes. These steps must be done right away and must be done everyday 🙏 Place a bit of his soiled litter outside, not the full litter box (sheltered from the rain, so not to get it wet). But leave it out only during the day, do not leave it outside when it gets dark and not overnight. It may attract other animals. You should also place a blanket or a piece of clothing with his scent on it outside as well. He may be able to smell his own scent and find his way home 🤞 Put out his food and a water bowl, in the same place everyday. You want him to stay close by. But don’t leave the food out when it’s dark, bring it back inside. If possible, leave an exit door or window opened so your cat can get back inside (while keeping other cats in the house safe in a closed room). You need to go out looking for him early mornings and late nights, calling his name and bring his favorite treats. He must be scared and hiding close by. But don’t walk too far from your home, you don’t want him to follow the sound of your voice and be that much further away from home. You want him to stay close by 🤞 Tell neighbors to look out for him, to check under and inside their sheds, garages, under balconies, etc… I would strongly suggest to ask your neighbours if you can go in their backyards and check for your cat yourself. Someone lost their cat and found her weeks later stuck inside a Cabano, not alive 😔 You should open a missing cat file with the Montreal SPCA and with ProAnima Montreal. If your cat is found and brought there, they will contact you. Also, join Petluck Group and post him on that group as well: https://www.facebook.com/groups/Petluck/?ref=share
