STEPS TO TAKE IF YOUR CAT IS LOST Cats go into survival mode when lost. They hide close to home at first, in bushes, up trees 🌲 under cars 🚗 , inside the wheel wells 🛞 of cars, under decks and behind lattices under decks . Call for them when it’s quiet, shake a treat bag. Put some smelly cat food that’s 🐠 flavor, outside your door, kitties always try to find a food source and will travel farther away until they find one. If it’s dark outside, use a flashlight 🔦 to look for “eye shine” 👁️ under bushes and cars. ***OPEN YOUR GARAGE DOOR🚪 a bit so they can come inside, put some unwashed clothing 👕 on the floor.*** FLYERS FLYERS FLYERS! Make some flyers (on brightly colored paper 📝 with a picture) and post them in the area. Contact animal control, local rescue groups and check Craigslist. Join and post on Lost Pet groups on Facebook in your area. Post on Nextdoor app. And ask neighbors to check their sheds and garages garage’s Cats get accidentally locked inside garages and sheds— 😢 CHECK OPEN/UNCOVERED WINDOW WELLS!! Cats can get trapped down inside them. Hopefully all these tips will bring your kitty home 🐈‍⬛ 🏡

There is a small gray tabby that has been showing up by my house, but, on the south side so the possibility that it's him is small. He comes to eat in the mornings. The kitty is so shy it won't come on the porch until I go inside the house. If you think it's possible this might be yours but idk

Lost cat If you have a garage crack open for your cat Don’t wait for a cat to find home. Get searching If warm temps allow leave a safe upper story window open so they can hear your voices and or smell home more. Call softly don’t chase it makes them go farther when scared in unfamiliar spaces. When spotted get low on ground sit coax. Predators move in and stay up. Night is quiet and they peek . Call softly. Listen for meows. Have flashlight to spot eyes. Once spotted takes hours to coax and catch at times. Have tuna when calling walking and when needed to coax. Also favorite wand toy Google “lost cat video”on google or Facebook under videos . You will find a video by front street animal shelter from California that is very helpful. Keep knocking on doors repeat at times leave a flyer talk , ask to look wnd again. Walk regularly at dusk call calmly look for darting or peeking. I looked between 4:30pm to 7pm etc when people are home. Don’t give up looking be diligent they are survivors . They may find a barn shed bush porch etc. to hide but they roam more at night. Also take flashlight and open can tuna in container to coax when spotted . Again ask knock look and handout flyers cats like homes to that are quieter and have shelter and or a bird feeder near. Hope cat is within 15 houses. Don’t give up. I helped a lady that repeated her found her cat in 30 days, another 2 days, mine 14 days. Post where people can read flyers hand out talk at doors knocking makes a difference call your cat calmly while doing it too and ask to look. Also put catnip in the four corners of yard and where you want cat to hang close to house.Hope all goes well. Look daily. Ask neighbors to continue to check garages , hiding areas etc Check humane societies in person every 2 days minimum

Lost cats Search for him/ her using a flashlight. He/ she will be frightened and will hide. It also might not respond to your calling him/ her. A flashlight will reflect in the eyes, allowing you to see it in dark spaces. Use it day and night.

Hope u find your kitty❤️ Put food near your door. Place a baby monitor and/or home security camera near the food so you can hear/see when your cat is there eating and go and get him/her. Check MADACC and other humane societies. Post on Lost Cats of Wisconsin. Keep checking each day! Check under bushes and other places in your yard and neighborhood to see if he is hiding there. Cats become scared and won't come when called. Don't give up. People find their cats months later. My friend found their cat 3 months after it got lost. It was hiding under a bush in the neighborhood, not coming when called and acting feral… very scared! Prayers! Hope u find your kitty❤️ Put food near your door.
