Message from Owner

Desperately looking for our baby girl Poppy, 20 months old, spayed, microchipped, grey all over (no markings or patterns in her fur) and no collar on when she went missing. Please look for her in gardens and sheds - she’s shy and likes to hide.

Anais Wosnitza I do hope you get Poppy back, it's quite infuriating when someone advertises a found cat & doesn't respond to enquiries. Don't give up, hopefully you will get her back. It may be worth, if not already, ringing around any local vets & rescues, as sometimes the chip moves & some people do not scan the whole of the animal, they should because one of my cats chips is now under his belly! I will keep my ears & eyes out

Stella Kenward totally agree, the distance doesn’t put me off at all - she’s been gone so long now she could easily be over 3 miles away, even further… it’s what’s making the search so hard is the lack of positive sightings. I’m not convinced the one in Mottingham is her, but would definitely like to go see it/get it scanned to be sure, as our Poppy is microchipped and marked as missing. I have written on the post and dm the lady who posted it, but no response yet. Poppy is very small for the breed (4kg when she was home, I assume much less now) so don’t imagine the big one you’re feeding is her, but so good to get close enough to check for a chip if you can and so kind of you to care ❤️ since loosing Poppy I so feel for anyone who’s pet is missing/want to reunite any found cats with their owners 🙏

Do keep in mind that cats can travel far, not only that but they are curious creatures & have been known to be found miles away after probably getting in the backs of vans. There was a post on here showing a cat found in Mottingham, did you respond? As they will not look as healthy after 4 weeks, as before they were lost, the distance should not put you off. Not sure if they just saw cat or managed to get it scanned. hopefully if yours is chipped. I did see an enormous blue in SE15/SE22 and Where I put Sausages out for a fox, I caught this cat eating them, it wasn't scared of fox, the fox kept it's distance, that was about a week ago, & every night I keep check & put cat food out too, I really hope it comes back as it knows there is food & I would hope to scan at some point . It may not be lost but it ate like it was, 3 bites of sausage & all gone. This cat was very big.
