Message from Owner

He’s an indoor cat. Very friendly but is shy if he doesn’t know you. We are all brokenhearted. 💔

You’re probably getting a lot of advice, but I hope some or all of these tips help you bring your baby home quickly. Once it gets dark, go outside with a flashlight and search carefully. Start right around your house and gradually work outward, checking under shrubs, bushes, decks, porches, and vehicles—anywhere your cat could be hiding. Shine the flashlight into those spaces and look for the reflection of their eyes. A frightened cat may stay quiet, even when they hear your voice, so take your time and look closely. Most importantly, don’t just wait for your cat to show up, even if they’ve escaped before and come home on their own. Be active in your efforts: put up flyers, knock on neighbors’ doors, and ask them to check garages, sheds, and other places your cat could have slipped into. Leave food close to the entrance of your house or apartment to encourage your cat to stay nearby rather than wandering farther away looking for resources. I also highly recommend setting up an outdoor camera pointed toward the food. It’s a great way to see whether your cat is returning when no one is around. It doesn’t have to be an expensive camera or require a subscription. I have an indoor/outdoor Wyze camera that I bought on Amazon for less than $40. I purchased an outdoor power cable separately, but it was inexpensive. Mine is set to send a notification to my phone whenever it detects movement. If it’s safe and possible, leave a door or window to the house, apartment, or garage cracked open, making sure any other pets are safely secured. Cats sometimes quietly return and walk inside, especially when everything is calm and quiet. I really hope your baby is home safe very soon. ❤️

Patrice Blair Leave the door cracked open the cat escaped from. Put something outside with your scent and cats scent and leave tuna by the door. Try this for a few days to see if it works. Its worked for others. Also make a missing cat sign for your yard and post on Nextdoor app. It will go out to people in your neighborhood. Cats don't travel far they hide close by. Multiple times a day walk the neighborhood shaking food and calling the cats name. If you can't leave your door cracked open I suggest setting a live trap with sardines. You want something smelly. Check the shelter and post on For the Love of Louie *Michigan Lost Pet Lookers*
