Thank you. We have a trap, camera and stinky food out (no litter box). We just went looking under everything that we could see under using our flashlights. Will try again later and then before dawn. I have his face posted everywhere and put all friends and neighbors on alert. Have checked all of the local roadways. Just hoping that he’s somewhere warm. Maybe stuck because people are out of town for the weekend. Fingers crossed!

Is he fixed also?? If so....probably hiding scared under something nearby or stuck in a garage or shed. Go outside any time but especially at dark and into the wee hours of the morning with a flashlight and look under things to see eyes glowing. Indoor fixed kitties rarely go far and are usually found hiding scared nearby. Look under everything...porches, decks, sheds, cars, bushes, etc. Look at night and into the wee hours of the morning with a flashlight to see eyes glowing. Ask/tell neighbors. Flyers =sightings. Consider using a humane trap ASAP. Please no litter box outside because it can attract predators and potentially keep your kitty from returning. Prayers for a safe return. If you're able you can also try leaving a door, garage door or window cracked open to let kitty come back in. A video doorbell or trail camera can be helpful to see if kitty is coming around when you're sleeping.

I copied the following messages from other people giving advice on finding lost cats. If Indoor Fixed Kitties: Indoor fixed kitties rarely go far and are usually found hiding scared nearby. A video doorbell or trail camera can be helpful to see if kitty is coming around when you're sleeping. Honestly - the magic time is 11pm-6am in spring/summer (8pm-6am in fall/winter) - when no humans are outside. That is when they feel comfortable coming out of hiding. Sit on steps/porch by where cat escaped - talk softly. Let cat come to you. Avoid eye contact. Lost pets will not act "normally" - they are in survival mode.

If you didn’t see him escape outside, he may be hiding inside for some reason or stuck somewhere. Use a flashlight inside to catch sight of his eyes. Post if you need to borrow a humane trap & need shown how to use it ASAP. They don’t usually go far from where they got out. Put tuna, mackerel, kfc, rotisserie chicken or other stinky food in trap that can also be heated up & sprinkle catnip in & around it. Put an item of his or yours if you cuddle with him by trap. Missing cats walked in an open door or partially opened garage door or jumped in open window in the evening & late overnight hours since it’s quieter outside during that time, if you are able to monitor doing that, and others showed up at owners front door when they kept opening it frequently to look for their cat. When it’s quiet in evenings & early morning hours, sit outside calling softly for him shaking a treat or food bag & also walk around doing the same. Shine a flashlight to catch sight of his eyes. He’s in survivor mode, so don’t make sudden movements or loud noises if you see him. Sit down at his level. A lot of cats return home between 1-2 am.
