🚨HELP US BRING ROCKY HOME 🚨 We need your help getting Rocky back to his family. Please SHARE this post. For the last several days, we have been doing everything we possibly can to get Rocky home. Rocky was surrendered to the shelter without the owner’s authorization by someone who was not his legal owner. Rocky is microchipped and registered to my girlfriend, and we have documentation and proof establishing her ownership. Despite this, the shelter accepted the surrender and Rocky was adopted out the very next morning. What makes this even more upsetting is that the shelter had my girlfriend’s contact information on file, yet she was not contacted before the surrender was accepted or before Rocky was adopted out. Rocky isn’t just a dog. He’s family. We’re devastated that someone who wasn’t his owner was able to surrender him, and that he was subsequently placed with another family before we were given a meaningful opportunity to resolve the situation. We understand that animal shelters have an incredibly difficult job and deal with complicated situations every day. But when there is a documented owner and a microchip registered to that owner, we believe the circumstances surrounding the surrender should be taken extremely seriously. HERE’S HOW YOU CAN HELP: 1. SHARE THIS POST. Our biggest priority is getting Rocky’s story in front of as many people as possible. Please share it with your friends, family, local St. Louis groups, animal lovers, and anyone who may be able to help. 2. HELP US GET THE ATTENTION OF SHELTER LEADERSHIP. If you have a legitimate concern about what happened, please respectfully contact the organization and ask them to investigate Rocky’s case and work toward reuniting him with his documented owner. 3. CONTACT LOCAL ANIMAL ADVOCACY GROUPS OR MEDIA. If you know an organization, journalist, or animal advocate who may be willing to look into Rocky’s situation, please tag them or send them this post. 4. IF YOU HAVE YOUR OWN FIRSTHAND EXPERIENCE, SHARE IT. If you’ve personally dealt with the organization and have a genuine experience you’d like to share, you’re welcome to leave an honest GOOGLE REVIEW on there based on your own experience. We’re asking for visibility, accountability, and help getting Rocky home. The organization says it is dedicated to “bringing people and pets together.” We are asking them to live up to that mission and help bring Rocky back to the family he belongs to. WE WILL NOT GIVE UP ON ROCKY. 🐾❤️ PLEASE SHARE. #BringRockyHome #HelpRocky #RockyNeedsToComeHome #StLouis #Missouri #LostDog #DogAdvocacy

Has anyone posted directly on the APA social media accounts? Not sure if it would help but it should get someone's attention.

Kim Kage how he was stolen is not relevant to the APA not doing anything to help us. He was taken directly from the home

Ethan Zink how was he stolen - was he in yard or home? Was he taken from inside your home by someone in your family or a stranger broke in and one of their family member's surrendered him? Any chance there is security videos?

Ethan Zink I believe the APA HAS to register the dog to themselves before they can rehome, unless they claim a chip could not be found and placed another chip. Did you press charges on the family member?

Kim Kage he was stolen and surrendered by a family member on August 31st and adopted the morning of September 1st. Chip is registered we have tried working with APA but they will not do anything for us. We have a police report on file aswell.

Let's get some facts on this case: So when did this all happen....the date he was supposedly stolen...was it inside your home or in the yard? Why would someone who stole him surrender to a shelter...do you have 100% proof he was stolen or is it possibly he got out and they had him as a stray? Have you reached out to the Animal Protective Association of Missouri (APA) as they would have the information recorded of the person who surrendered him and then also the adoption. If he was brought in as a stray there is a 5 day hold and they would check for a chip. Was the chip not registered so they didn't know the owner at the time?
