Distribute flyers to entire neighborhood. Put a large poster with photo and phone number in your front yard for those not on social media. Check animal control daily in person- not by phone or online. Leave a flyer with them and humane societies and rescues and vets. Also your mailman. Most cats are found within a 3-5 house radius. Indoor only cats are usually much closer hiding. Best time to look is before dawn and way after dark. Take a flashlight and look up trees and under bushes, under decks, in ditches, in/behind sheds, etc. Have neighbors check their cameras and backyards in case your kitty got stuck there.

I’m sorry your adorable pale orange (ginger) tabby cat has failed to return home and is lost, but please try not to fear the worst — Dezi may simply need some extra help getting home. Thoroughly search using a flashlight during the day and especially at dusk (when it's dark and quiet) to determine whether he’s ill or injured and hiding nearby, or stuck somewhere. Check every crack and crevice, look in outbuildings, containers, vehicles, under foundations, sheds and porches, into trees, etc. — call and listen carefully for Dezi’s cries (he may alert you to his location). Go around late at night calling them with food and flashlight to catch their eyes. Check around your neighborhood under houses and in small places where they may hide. Put stuff out that has yours and their scent on it. Mainly their litter box and sprinkle their used litter around the yard as they'll recognize the smell and it'll deter other animals from coming around. Hang flyers around for people to see. Check shelters and vets daily. Update chip info if they have a chip and its has not been update since a move. Ask neighbors to check in their garages incase they ended up trapped in one and to check their cameras in case they appeared on them to get a sense of direction they could be. I pray you get your baby back safe and soon.
