Please drop off pix at the shelters before the next few days if you can. Depending on who you spoke to, another person working there might not tell a searching owner what you called and said.

Rachel Cooper Lullio Hi, I appreciate your concerns. My plan was to hold him safe and comfortable with me for a few days while I try and locate his owner. I already notified AHS Newark that I plan on personally bringing him in within the next few days if nothing turns up. They also didn't mention anyone was searching for him over the phone. I just got him scanned at the vet and no chip unfortunately 😔 I was really hoping he was. And yes absolutely, if anyone attempts to claim him, I will be cautious and very diligent in verifying ownership. I can assure you I don't plan on giving him to anyone else to hold or re-home. Thank you for the information - it's very helpful. Please do spread the word and hopefully we can find him a foster placement while he's at AHS so they can maybe tag him before his 7 day hold expires. He looks to be a little senior and he's the sweetest dog - amazing temperament, walks great, and extremely friendly. shows no aggression towards dogs, cats, and people.

Pls bring to local police or shelter associated with where you found the dog. Those are where owners will be calling and looking, and they may not be on social media at all. Either can also scan for a chip. If anyone tries to claim, please ask for perfect ownership papers, and that exchange is most safely done at the police station. Pls don’t give to anyone else to hold, or re-home. Thank you. 🙏🏼
