Message from Finder

This is the first time this cat has been around this area. She is super friendly, and really seems to want to come into the hse. Unfortunately, we have 4 cats and they aren't very welcoming to new cats in the hse

Please just don't leave her out there!!! This is someone's Lost Cat based on the behavior and appearance. Please try to obtain a human trap so you can trap her. If she's friendly enough for you to pick up and put into a clean carrier then please do so. Don't try if she's running from you and may chase her away. You need to report the signing to local nonemergency police and Animal Control may be able to help with getting her to safety. She's asking for help and I understand you can't take her in, but try to help in other ways, including the legal ways of reporting to nonemergency police who will work with Animal Control. If you haven't trusted friend, who might be able to take her in if she is that friendly. Get her scanned for a microchip. Follow up with the person who said it's their cat. They must provide proof of ownership. 🐈‍⬛Found Cat Protocol- Follow the Law Please follow my advice: 🐾Just remember found animals cannot be re-homed by you. You have to make an effort by law to find the owner and if not turn over to Animal Control who will take to the shelter your town contracts with. ⬇️ Please knock on your neighbors door’s within a mile radius of where you found the cat. It’s the law to report a found pet to the local police department as well as Animal Control and should also be reported to the shelter that Animal Control for the town contracts with. Owners who have lost their pets will make a LOST pet report and Police and Animal Control work together to reunite the found pets. Lost cats have patterns and they usually stay within a mile and most are found much closer to home as in a couple houses away or next street over. Hand out cat flyers, speak to people. Post flyers up on poles as well. Please be sure to get proof of ownership before handing the cat over. Call the local police and Animal Control to see if there was a missing pet report made the matches. Take to any Vet for the free service of scanning for a microchip. And thank you for helping this Kitty. Animals choose their rescuers. We cannot let them down. K.R.
