Message from Owner

Shakespeare is a sweetheart. He is 2 yrs old. He has a little black tear drop marking in the corner of his left eye as you look at him. He was adopted & is from a feral cat colony. He is still a bit on the feral side & skittish. He loves us (my 3 fur bbs & myself), but I have home health aides that have never met him. He is the heart of our home. He was the missing piece that made us feel whole. I came home with a little black rescue kitty a couple years ago & my white Great Pyrenees took her & decided she was hers. And Sasha decided Sugar the dog was her new mother. So I got & lost a kitty really fast. Sophie my other pup was despondent bc the little black kitty only wanted Sugar. So I brought home Shakespeare and he bonded with Sophie and all was right in our little world bc Sugar had Sasha and Sophie had Shakespeare & I had all of them. And now we are like a hse in mourning bc Sophie does not have Shakespeare. None of us do. And we just keep searching and searching to no avail. He’s a great kitty cat & we miss him so much. Please help us find him by reporting any sightings. Thanks!

Post on Paw Boost! Here are some suggestions if you haven’t already done them. Put up fliers ASAP!! Ask neighbors to check garages, under decks and any potential hiding spots! If you have a garage keep the door open just enough for her to go in. If you have a garage open the door enough to go in. Also put out blankets or any items he liked to sleep on. https://www.missinganimalresponse.com/lost-cat-behavior/

Please post cross streets. Get out calling Kitty's name especially early and late when it's quiet. Search for the flashlight high and low. Put up posters with number large enough to be seen while driving. And post on nextdoor com

Here are some tips to help bring your cat back home: Search the neighborhood and ask if you can look in their their yard yourself rather than just ask if they've seen your cat. They might not have noticed if a cat has been hiding under their deck. LOOK IN SMALL SPACES such as basement window wells, under cars, bushes, sheds, under decks, wood piles, drainage pipes etc. ***Please go outside and call for her especially once it is dark and quiet. Call for your cat and wait for a meow back. This is critical in case your cat is trapped somewhere. A live trap rented from the pound may be successful. One tip is to use a baby monitor or other security camera pointed in your yard toward the trap so you can monitor if and when your cat is coming around since it’s often in the dark of night. Check small spaces she could be hiding under or in. A number of local cats were recently found locked in neighbor's garage attics (ask neighbors to check their garages, sheds, window wells, etc), and another cat was recently found in a nearby drainage ditch.** PUT OUT THEIR LITTERBOX. Sounds weird, but it works. It's about smells. Also maybe put out their bedding or your clothing. PUT OUT SMELLY FOOD like sardines, tuna, canned cat food. Some have put it in a garage with the door part way open, or they even left the window open and food near the sill. Also LEAVE YOUR GARAGE DOOR OPEN a foot. Some cats have come home and been found meowing in their garage in the middle of the night! Post on the Next Door website or app as well to let people in your neighborhood know. Additionally, post on Craigslist, and the HelpingLostPets page and also the Pawboost Facebook page. A free flyer can be made on Pawboost and also on HelpingLostPets. And definitely contact authorities. If you have created the free flyer, you can email or leave a printout with them. Please check the pound every couple days.
